GRADUATE ASSISTANT LAMAR TRACK & FIELD

Jamal Nash

First Season Alma Mater: Lamar, 2013 Hometown: Houston, Texas

Jamal Nash enters the 2013 season just one year removed from an impressive four-year career as a Lamar track athlete. Nash completed his career as a hurdler and sprinter and currently holds the school record for the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.22 seconds. He’s also tied for the fourth-best 60 meter dash performer in school history at 7.00 seconds. Both marks were set in the 2012 indoor season.

Since joining the staff in the fall, Nash works with both hurdlers and sprinters, and he’s responsible for setting up workouts and helping with equipment. A native of nearby Houston, Nash will graduate in May with a degree in general studies with a minor in business.

In outdoor track, Nash was a part of the distance medley relay team that finished fifth at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays with a time of 9:44.58, which ranks as the second-best mark in school history.
