CPT is the first step towards the world of Chartered Accountancy. Aspiring to become a Chartered Accountant? Want to clear all your CA exams in single attempt? Need some tips? Obviously yes! That’s why you are here right? There are many Chartered Accountant in Delhi from which you can consult about your exam preparation. Earlier it was a bit difficult to find CAs but nowadays you can find Chartered Accountant online in Delhi. Why not you become the one? So in today’s article I am going to talk about some tips and tricks to pass CPT. CPT or Common Proficiency Test is the first test you have to give in order to reach to next level for CA examination. If you want to register for CPT you can do it after passing 10 th exam and appear for the exam after completing you +2. It is divided into 4 sections: 1. 2. 3. 4.

Accounts (60 marks) Mercantile law (40 marks) Economics (50 marks) Quantitative aptitude (50 marks)

In order to pass CPT, you must need to attain a minimum of 30% marks in each section and an aggregate of 50% marks in all the 4 sections. So o clear the exams there are some tips which I am going to discuss now: 1.

Study material: If you are appearing for an exam what you must have is study material. How can you pass without it? You must have all the books and complete notes from where you can do your preparation. You can ask your teachers or seniors who have cleared CPT and they will tell you the books of best authors. What you can do is arrange papers of previous year or unsolved papers. They can be of great help.

2.

Time table: I know we all at some stage of life prepare a time table for us which we don’t follow eventually. But at this stage we need to be serious about it. Prepare a studying schedule for you and follow that STRICTLY! You must give almost equal time to each subject. Take short breaks in between because I know no one can study continuously. You must stick to your time table. After all you want to become the future CA.

3.

Pointing out doubts: It’s not possible for you to read and chapter once and understand all the concepts at the very first time. So it will be better if you mark your doubts out and discuss it with your teacher or any senior. Why should we hesitate in asking our doubts? It’s the most important part of preparation. After you have solved all your doubts you must go through the chapter again to keep all the things in mind. It will help you to prevent doing the same mistake you are doing during studying.

4.

Marking important points: Now if you are marking your doubts then you must mark the important points too. You can write those points in a separate notebook and take it out at the time of revision .It will make your concepts clear and at the time of revision there will be no need to go through all the pages for a single point. You can read it from the marked points itself. It will save your revision time and you can give a good amount of time to other subjects too.

5.

Revision: After doing lots and lots of preparation what is the most important thing? Revision, without any doubt. By the term I don’t mean studying everything before half an hour of your examination. Here’s a tip: you must avoid studying or revising anything just before the exam. It will give you just one thing that is ANXIETY! I have a better option for all the future Chartered Accountants. What you can do here is either study all day and revises that on the same night before sleeping or study the whole weekday and revises the whole weekends. Choice is utterly yours.

6.

Emphasize on every subject: Remember what your goal is. You have to score 30% marks in each subject and an aggregate of 50% marks overall. It will be possible only if you focus on all the subjects equally. You must know your strong and weak points. What you can do here is either you can go to a good coaching for CA CPT Exam or if you don’t want that then another option is consulting any elder who is also preparing for higher level exams of CA (IPCC and CA final exam). They can tell you how much time you should give to a particular question and other important things too.

7.

Solving papers: Without knowing the pattern of the paper it will be difficult for you to solve the paper efficiently. It’s a must thing to do- solve previous year’s paper and mock tests. It will give you an idea about the exam pattern and your preparation too. Solve the paper like you are giving the real CPT Exam. It will boost your confidence too. You must know some good calculator tricks too which you can learn from Google.

8.

Positive mindset: It is the most important thing which you must carry with yourself in the exam paper. Don’t think negative or not even listen if anything is saying something negative. The only thing you must say to yourself is that. “I am prepared and I will clear the exam too”. Have a positive attitude. You will be going to need it in every stage of examination. So these are some tips and tricks by which you can pass your CPT Exam. All you need is firm determination and efforts. You can also become a Chartered Accountant. In Delhi, there are many students who want to become Chartered Accountant. If you want, you can find Chartered Accountants online too and they will let you know about the fields of Chartered Accountancy too. What you must know is if you want to achieve your goal then dedication and efforts will be its key! All the heartiest wishes and luck to the CPT aspirants.
