Placement Opportunity – Lysistrata Marketing and Publicity Assistant Placement Period:

November – April 2018

Nature of placement: Voluntary Attendance:

As agreed with Lakeside Marketing & Communications Manager during placement, approximately 4-6 hours per week

Place of Work:

D H L Pavilion, Nottingham Lakeside Arts, Nottingham New Theatre & remotely

Responsible to:

Lakeside Marketing & Communications Manager (Alice Wright) and Marketing & Digital Assistant (Olivia Robinson)

Key relationships:

Director, Producer, Learning Specialists and Cast and Crew of production.

Nature of Placement The placement is designed to provide vocational experience of a PR & Marketing campaign planning and delivery for a professionally directed theatre production of Lysistrata by Aristophanes. This role will closely support the implementation of the marketing & PR campaign led by the full-time Marketing and Digital Assistant (Olivia Robinson) with support from the Marketing and Communications Manager (Alice Wright). Aims of Placement To offer relevant job-related practical experience in arts marketing and PR, supported and directed within a professional working environment. Outcomes of Placement Successful applicant will have gained practical skills, and demonstrable knowledge and experience in the following key areas:           

Writing Press Releases Drafting copy for advertisements, e-flyers, invitations Planning and drafting copy for programme Proof reading Understanding campaign planning Understanding of the importance of team working Working to timescales and meeting deadlines Planning Press Events and VIP Event Liaising with Media, and organising interviews Understanding of the role of PR and Communications alongside Marketing Understanding the importance of data capture
