6. Learn to Surf
This amusement park, located on the waterfront in Mission Beach, boasts one of the last wooden roller coasters on the U.S. west coast, the Giant Dipper. Other activities: zip line, 30-foot climbing wall and laser tag.
Great surfing can be found all along the coast. So grab a board and hit the beach. For newbies, Mission Beach Surfing School offers lessons, and for the adventurous, learn how to wake and kite surf. You can also rent gear.

3. Explore the Boardwalk
This famous beachfront boardwalk runs along the coastline for nearly three miles from South Mission Beach to Pacific Beach. Bike, skateboard, rollerblade or walk. Great dining, shopping & people-watching along the way.
4. Bike the Beach & Bay
A great way to explore the beach area is by bicycle. Cruise the boardwalk or head up to La Jolla. Plus, there's miles of cycling paths around scenic Mission Bay Park.

Don't miss San Diego Whale Watch tours. Experienced captains know where to find the migrating gray, blue and finback whales along with dolphins and other sea creatures.
Mission Bay Sports Center, located on the east side of Mission Beach, rents kayaks, paddle boats and stand-up paddle boards for some fun on Mission Bay. The center also offers tours of the bay by stand-up paddle boards or jet skis, and check out their summer camps for kids.
8. Take a Boat Cruise The Bahia Belle is a turn-ofthe-century Mississippi sternwheeler that takes you sightseeing in comfort around Courtesy Courtesyphoto photo Mission Bay. The 74-foot, 3-story boat offers an observation deck to view the beautiful sites of the 4,200-acre aquatic park and is a relaxing way to spend an evening.
9. Mission Point Park
Mission Point Park is a small park located at the south end of Mission Boulevard, at the entrance of Mission Bay. Enjoy a tot lot playground, picnic tables, park benches, fire rings and a path for jogging and bike riding.

Mission Bay Golf Course is one of the best 18-hole executive courses in town. This challenging public course is the only night-lit golf course in the area. This par 3 and 4 course is a winner. Entrance is on North Mission Bay Drive.
