Council of Europe, The Charter for Regional or Minority Languages Directorate for Human Rights and Legal Affairs The Agora building F-67075 Strasbourg Cedex France

Regarding the closure of the only Kven primary school and kindergarten in Norway. The attachment to this letter tells the story and faith of the one and only Kven primary school and kindergarten in Norway. It’s situated in Pyssyjoki (Børselv) in the municipality of Porsanger in the county of Finnmark. The majority of the politicians in the municipality have decided to close down the school. It’s a disaster. I hope that the Council of Europe and the committee of experts can as soon as possible react to this closure according to the obligations in the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages.

Yours sincerely

Terje Aronsen.
