Ali Alghanim & Sons Automotive holds Open Day Camp for staff

li Alghanim & Sons Automotive, the exclusive importer of BMW, MINI, Rolls-Royce, Range Rover, Land Rover and McLaren vehicles in Kuwait, organized an entertaining open day for their staff at “The Camp”, to the north of Metlah Area. The open day was named “Joy Camp 2011”. The long entertainment day included many children activities such as face painting, magic show, jumping castles, pony and camel riding, in addition sports games like soccer, basketball, volleyball and tug of war to both adults and children alike. Valuable prized were won in group, family and entertainment contests. Commenting on the open day, Yousef Al-Qatami, General Manager, Ali Alghanim & Sons Automotive said, “Organizing such a day arises from the company’s strong belief in the necessity of incentivizing our staff and strengthening their spirit of teamwork, also to show our appreciation for their hard work. At Ali Alghanim & Sons Automotive we consider our staff as our most important assets”, “This function coincides with a dear occasion, Ali Alghanim & Sons Automotive silver jubilee or 25th anniversary”, he added. Al-Qatami promised to repeat such family gatherings, which contribute positively in building company morale far from work tensions and responsibilities.

‘Stay satisfied’ grand raffle winner declared at Holiday Inn

aving a very successful month throughout February and winding up its Stay Satisfied promotion, Holiday Inn Kuwait held its Grand Raffle Draw to announce the winner of the brand new Sports Coupe Actyon. Mohammed Abdul Aziz was declared the lucky winner of the car for the Grand Raffle Draw that was held for a whole month at the hotel, in conjunction with its Stay Satisfied promotion. A great success from its inception, the every guest spending only KD 5 at any of the restaurants were entitled to enter daily and weekly draws, giving them attractive gifts that made them come back for more. Held at one of the newest ballrooms of the hotel, Al Danah, the guests were welcomed by Ramy Haykal, General Manager, members of the management team and the Marketing Team. In an ambience of festive delight, the winners of various gifts came together to celebrate their winning as well as congratulate the winner of the Grand Prize, whose name was announced by Ramy Haykal. In his speech, Ramy Haykal welcomed the guests and expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the co - sponsor, Al Dabbous International Company as well as all the customers of the hotel who made the promotion and the evening’s event a success. He also welcomed the Privilege Club members, whose contribution to the promotion was great. Mohammed Abdul Aziz, winner of the car, was gifted the key to the car by Ramy Haykal jointly with the co - sponsors of the promotion, Al Dabbous International Company. In addition, the winners of the daily and weekly draws were also announced and gifts were given away. Following this, a memento of appreciation was presented to the Sales Manager of Al Dabbous International Company, Abbas Al Halabi.

EMBASSY OF INDIA The Embassy of India has further revamped and improved its Legal Advice Clinic at the Indian Workers Welfare Center, and made the free service available to Indian nationals on all five working days, i.e. from Sunday to Thursday every week. Kuwaiti lawyers would be available at the Legal Advice Clinic daily from Monday to Thursday, while Indian lawyers would be available on Sundays. Following are the free welfare services provided at the Indian Workers Welfare Center located at the Embassy of India: [i] 24x7 Helpline for Domestic Workers: Accessible by toll free telephone no. 25674163 from anywhere in Kuwait, it provides information and advice exclusively to Indian domestic sector workers (Visa No. 20) as regards their grievances, immigration and other matters. [ii] Help Desk: It offers guidance to Indian nationals on routine immigration, employment, legal, and other issues (Embassy premises; 9 AM to 1 PM and 2 PM to 4.30 PM, Sunday to Thursday); (iii) Labour Complaints Desk: It registers labor complaints and provides grievance redressal service to Indian workers (Embassy premises; 9 AM to 1 PM and 2 PM to 4.30 PM, Sunday to Thursday); (iv) Shelters: For female and male domestic workers in distress; (v) Legal Advice Clinic: Provides free legal advice to Indian nationals (Embassy premises; Kuwaiti lawyers 3 PM to 5 PM, Monday to Thursday; Indian lawyers 2 PM to 4 PM on Sunday); and (vi) Attestation of Work Contracts: Private sector worker (Visa No. 18) contracts are accepted at the Embassy; 9 AM to 1 PM; Sunday to Thursday; Domestic sector worker (Visa No. 20) contracts are accepted at Kuwait Union of Domestic Labor Offices (KUDLO), Hawally, Al-Othman Street, Kurd Roundabout, Al-Abraj Complex, Office No 9, Mezzanine Floor; 9 AM to 9 PM, Saturday to Thursday; 5 PM to 9 PM on Friday. Embassy of India would like to inform that application forms for passport/visa services and labor contracts that are on its website, www.indembkwt.org, have been upgraded to include the facility for online data entry. Affidavit forms on the embassy website have had this facility since May 6, 2009. The Chief Electoral Officers of the states of Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and the Union Territory of Puducherry, where elections have been declared, have issued notification under Rule 8A of Registration of Electors Rules, 1960, allowing overseas electors to submit registration forms to exercise their franchise in their respective constituencies. Relevant application forms, guidelines for filling them, as well as postal addresses of the Electoral Registration Officers of all constituencies in India are on the website of the Election Commission of India (http://eci.nic.in) and Indian nationals in Kuwait desirous of exercising their franchise are advised to access the website. It is clarified that the attestation of Form 6-A and other documents relating to the election process are to be done by the applicant himself/herself (i.e., self attestation) and not by the Embassy of India, Kuwait.

EMBASSY OF PAKISTAN On the occasion of Pakistan National Day, a flag hoisting ceremony will be held at the Chancery premises in Jabriya, on Wednesday, 23rd March 2011 at 08:00 am. All Pakistanis resident in Kuwait are cordially invited to attend the ceremony. Pakistan Embassy has also organized a National Day program with participation of Pakistani schools and Pakistani community. The program would open late afternoon on Wednesday 30th March, 2011 at Green Island, Al-daiyah, Gulf Road, Kuwait. The program would include a mini fair including traditional Pakistani food stalls and a stage performance by school children. The stage performance would start at 6:15 pm (entry is free for Pakistani community). The Embassy will remain closed for consular work on 23 March 2011.
