Investiture for the promising senate of LOA ourage is the commitment to begin without any guarantee of success and the willingness to accept responsibility for one’s own life”. This is how the students of Learners’ Own Academy (LOA) showed their exceptional courage to come forward and accept the seizure of challenging responsibilities. 6th May 2012 was a great day for LOA because it was the day decided for the bestowal of the senate of the school. Satish C. Mehta, the Ambassador of India to Kuwait, was the Chief Guest and Abrahim-Al-Gurair sponsor of the school, was the guest of honour for the ceremony. Ms Asha Sharma; Principal of school, Ms Kavita Sudheer; vice-principal and other staff members enhanced the significance of the ceremony with their commendable organization. The chief guest, lighted the lamp of knowledge. An invocation dance ushered the events of the day. The newly elected council members enthralled the audience with their march past. It was really mesmerizing and exciting. Later the senate members were adorned with the badges and sashes. All the spectators were enthused and appreciated the office bearers sprightly with loud applause. The solemn oath was administered adorably by the principal. The chief guest, shared his encouraging and persuasive thoughts with all. First of all he congratulated the newly appointed senate and later he emphasized on the need of a “never-say-no” spirit in life. He cajoled all the students to make a balance between studies and extra curricular activities. He continued by saying that leadership is sacrifice and taking responsibility and standing for others will help them to gain respect from other people. He further pointed out that junior classes are the foundation of a strong future and the elected council will stand as a role model for them. His speech was really effective and cogent. The occasion reminded his Excellency of his school days and he urged the students to make the most of school days as they are the best days of their life and they will cherish the memories of these days throughout their lives. Kishan Paul Raja, the Head boy and Charutha Joy, the Head girl would be leading the student council of the session 2012-2013. Likewise we all hope that the chosen senate will definitely show its mark in the coming future and will enhance the reputation and glory of the school. As it is wisely said, “The highest levels are more certainly filled with those who choose to be there”. The ceremony ended with a dance presentation and group photograph of the student’s council with the dignitaries.
