Katie Capps Director of Opera ons | Eighth Season at Kansas

Ka e Capps is in her eighth season with the Kansas women’s basketball program and first as director of opera ons a er serving as assistant director of basketball opera ons/video coordinator for the past seven seasons.

Capps oversees the daily opera ons of the program, while handling team travel, business opera ons, community rela ons and serving as director of the Bonnie Henrickson Summer Basketball Camps. She also directs the Hoops to Heels program and is the liaison to the Hardwood Booster Club.

In addi on, Capps assists with on-campus recrui ng, game day management and student-athlete development. Capps came to Kansas a er one season as graduate assistant at Western Kentucky University, where she also played for four seasons for the Lady `Toppers. During her career, WKU appeared in the 2000 NCAA Tournament and made two WNIT appearances. As a graduate assistant in 2003-04, Capps oversaw a variety of coaching and administra ve du es as a member of the Western Kentucky staff including serving as the community liaison, as well as coordinator of the booster club and assis ng with

scheduling. She was also responsible for aiding with academic affairs, coordina ng team travel and promo ng the Lady Topper Summer Basketball Camps. A na ve of Bloomington, Ill., Capps graduated from Western Kentucky in 2002 with a degree in Corporate and Organiza onal Communica ons. She also earned a master’s of Educa on degree from the University of Kansas in 2007. Formerly Ka e Wulf, she married Eric Capps on Sept. 3, 2005. The couple resides in Eudora with their three sons, Charlie (3) and twins Harrison and Winston who were born on Jan. 19, 2011.

Assistant Director of Opera ons/Video Coordinator First Season at Kansas

Graduate Student Manager | Second Season at Kansas

Alaina Lee joins the Kansas women’s basketball staff as the assistant director of opera ons and video coordinator. She began her posi on with the Jayhawks staff in July 2011 and will serve as the team’s liaison for other departments such as equipment and facili es. Lee will also help with the Bonnie Henrickson summer camps and assist with day-to-day opera ons in the KU women’s basketball office. A four-year le erwinner at Murray State University, Lee started for three seasons and was a member of the Ohio Valley Conference Championship team in 2008 that advanced to the program’s first-ever NCAA Tournament berth. Lee ended her career second in program history having appeared in 114 games and ranked 22nd with 861 career points. Lee, a na ve of Houston, Texas, spent two

seasons as an assistant coach at Blinn College in Brenham, Texas from 2008-10. During her me with the Buccaneers, Lee was the team’s recrui ng coordinator in addi on to assis ng players with skill development and weight training. She also worked with two- me allregion selec on Brateicka Mock, while Blinn qualified for regionals both seasons. Lee’s coaching resume also includes s nts as a head coach and assistant coach in the Houston Elite AAU basketball program and as head basketball coach at the E.O. Smith Educa onal Center, where she also served as a physical educa on teacher. A member of the Women’s Basketball Coaches Associa on (WBCA), Lee graduated from Murray State in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in health and physical educa on.

Danielle Campbell is in her second season as the Graduate Student Manager for the Jayhawks a er a successful playing career at Purdue and a year of professional basketball in Australia. Campbell, who was selected by the Indiana Fever in the 2009 WNBA Dra , was an All-Big Ten Honorable Men on pick in 2009. She played in more games (140) than any other player in Purdue history. She finished her career fourth on Purdue’s all- me career blocked shots list with 175, and she ranks 12th on the rebounding list with 709 boards in her career. A er star ng just one game in her first two seasons with the Boilermakers, Campbell started all 34 games for Purdue during her junior season and led the team in scoring with an average of 12.2

rpg. She was also the Boilermakers’ leading rebounder with 7.2 rpg, while being named a member of the Big Ten All-Defensive Team and to the third team All-Big Ten by coaches and media. She was also selected to the Big Ten All-Tournament Team. Campbell collected just the second triple-double in Purdue women’s history, as she set a school record for blocks in a game with 11, to go along with 12 points and 11 rebounds vs. Butler. Campbell earned a degree in public rela ons from Purdue in May of 2009. She averaged 16 ppg, 13 rpg and 4.0 bpg as a senior at Chicago’s Whitney Young High School, finishing fourth in Illinois Miss Basketball vo ng and she was a fourth team All-American by Street & Smith’s as a senior.
