Assistant Athletic Director for Sport Performance The $8 million, 42,000 squarefoot Anderson Family Strength and Conditioning Center, which features stateof-the-art weight training equipment, a cardiovascular workout area, as well as meeting rooms and lockers, opened for KU student-athletes in the summer of 2003. Los Angeles residents Dana and Sue Anderson pledged the funds to the University of Kansas Endowment Association on behalf of their family, including their four children, for the one-of-a-kind strength and conditioning center. Built on existing university property at the northwest corner of Anschutz Sports Pavilion, the two-story center replaced the Shaffer-Holland Strength Center. In summer 2012, Kansas became the signature school for EliteForm, which integrates technology into workout sessions to enhance the training and sport performances in KU student-athletes. Assistant Athletic Director for Sport Performance Andrea Hudy is the strength and conditioning coach for men’s basketball. Prior to KU, Hudy served nine and a half years at Connecticut, where she worked closely with the Huskies’ national champion men’s and women’s basketball teams. In all, Hudy was part of eight national championship teams while at Connecticut - two men’s basketball, five women’s basketball and one men’s soccer. Hudy earned her bachelor of science degree in kinesiology at Maryland and her masters of art and sport biomechanics degree from Connecticut. She is a certified strength and conditioning specialist by the National Strength and Conditioning Association and a USAW Level I Coach. Hudy is also a nationally certified massage therapist.
