Greetings Detachment 630 Alumni, My name is Joshua Henry and I am a senior cadet from Detachment 630, planning to graduate and commission in May 2012. For a little background on myself, I grew up in the Washington DC area and graduated from South Lakes High School in Reston, Virginia. Directly after graduation from high school my father retired from the Army and decided to move back to Ohio in order to be closer to our extended family in the Youngstown area. This is also where both of my parents had grown up. I attended Youngstown State University initially and will now be finishing my degree in Business Management here at Kent State University. In regard to this semester, it has been a great one for the Detachment. We have an absolutely outstanding class of seniors and juniors that make up the current POC, and the GMC are a very motivated crew in their own right. The overall philosophy of the senior class this year has been to be directly involved with the GMC as well as the Junior POC at all levels of operation within AFROTC, and when I say involved in all aspects of operations I am not stating this from a micro-management stand point, but from a mentorship and servantleadership point of view. The seniors want make sure that our underclassmen cadets are getting all of the information, materials, and guidance that they need in order to perform the jobs to the best of their ability. We want to be known as a class that has made a very positive impact on the experience of the cadet's coming directly behind us. There is also a heavy emphasis on taking in as many experiences as possible within our "AFROTC bubble" (both the good and the bad) in order to apply that knowledge in a positive manner when we get the opportunity to become active duty officers. The Cadet Corps realizes that we have an opportunity to perpetuate the excellence that has already been established at this Detachment and improve upon it in order to create the highest quality training environment we can for the future officers of the United States Air Force. I can truly say I am extremely proud to be a part of this great group of seniors as well as the Cadet Corps as a whole. Thank you all very much for your time and the Cadet Corps and I look forward to seeing you on Active Duty! - Cadet Joshua Henry Page 4

The “Box D By Captain Marik Hughes During WWII the tail flash for the 100th Bomb Group was a D. During sorties planes from the same base with the same tail flash would meet in mid-air for bombing runs. Today, the 100 BG is the 100 Air Refueling Wing.
