Handcrafted in the USA Kokatat has been manufacturing paddling gear in Arcata, California for more than 40 years. At a time when many technical apparel brands were moving manufacturing offshore, Kokatat continued to invest in infrastructure in the United States. Kokatat founder Steve O’Meara was committed to the development of the finest and driest paddling apparel in the world and recognized the need to control and continually evolve the development of our dry wear. In the early days, Kokatat worked closely with W.L. Gore & Associates, makers of GORE-TEX®, to refine the sewing and sealing techniques required for full immersion suits and tops. Today, our hands-on approach to manufacturing continues to set the standard in paddling apparel. Good for the Economy. Better for the Environment. Kokatat is proud of our contribution to the local Humboldt County economy. More than 90% of our global sales are generated from apparel and accessories manufactured in Arcata. Our long term employees have developed skills and techniques unique in the industry. Kokatat has been able to maintain a low carbon footprint, relative to many other brands of outdoor apparel that source goods offshore. This year we activated one of the largest solar photovoltaic systems in the region, powering much of our manufacturing equipment. We also employ strict water conservation practices throughout our factory. Named the 2010 Arcata Green Business of the Year, our company provides an established platform of green practices, social equity and economic vitality to the region.

zipper information Kokatat’s Swift Entry and Meridian dry suits, SuperNova and Youth SuperNova paddling suits are supplied with our watersports zipper. This zipper is effectively waterproof for surface watersports. All GORE-TEXŽ dry suits are supplied with an Optiseal zipper, and are factory tested to be completely waterproof to 20 feet. Keep sand and dirt out of the zipper teeth and the closing end of the zipper. Please refer to the detailed care instructions on the hangtags.
gasket care and repair Latex gaskets need to be treated every 4–6 weeks to prevent drying and cracking. Kokatat recommends 303 Protectant, available in 2 oz. and 8 oz. sizes. Small tears or holes in the gasket may be repaired with AquasealŽ. Replacement gaskets and kits are available from Kokatat, and the instructions are online at www.kokatat.com. Kokatat will replace gaskets and socks for a reasonable charge on Kokatat garments only. Please contact customer service prior to sending in garments for repair!
