Beginning in Greece around 600 B.C., mathematical concepts and principles were heralded as a pathway to higher understanding. Deemed as the "gateway to the Gods," mathematics was regarded as a spiritual study, with individual numbers taking on special and unique meanings. Likewise, every object in existence gives off frequencies and vibrations, which are further tied in with all living matter. Lying at the root of these frequencies are numerical values. These numerical values, when interpreted by skilled individuals, take on a higher meaning and can aid individuals in interpreting what their future may hold for them. Applying these numbers and their individualized meanings, astrologers and mathematicians alike, began to work together to decipher a higher meaning behind numbers. Thus began the study of numerology.
