The Holmes County Trail The Holmes County Trail is a 15-mile trail that takes travelers from Fredericksburg to Killbuck. One lane is paved with asphalt for smooth bike riding, rollerblading, walking or running. The other half is paved with chip and seal for horse-drawn vehicles and horseback riding, making it a rare location where one can bike next to buggies.
The trail is a partner in the Rails to Trails Conservancy that is dedicated to helping convert unused railroad corridors into community trails. Each June a benefit auction and 5K run is held to help raise money for maintaining the trail and eventually finishing the entire 31-mile trail that will connect Holmes County from north to south.
