FIVE DISTINGUISHED ALUMNI INDUCTED INTO SIGNUM FIDEI SOCIETY On April 30, 2011, five distinguished individuals were bestowed with St. Joe's most prestigious honor — induction into the St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute Signum Fidei Society. Patrick M. Ryan '62, Kevin W. Spitler '67, Richard A. Neumeister '69, James (Jay) Leary '71 and Kevin M. Foley '78 were celebrated at the spring ceremony. Held at the Brookfield Country Club in Clarence, the evening was highlighted by dinner and a celebration of the inductees' illustrious professional and personal achievements. The master of ceremonies was William M. Collins '72, Principal of Travers Collins & Company, and a 2006 Signum Fidei Society inductee. Signum Fidei (sign of faith) is the characteristic spirit of the Christian Brothers, that attitude of faith which expresses itself in love and zeal for the welfare of others. A member of the Signum Fidei Society is an alumnus of St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute who has distinguished himself in his professional career and via community activities, an individual who shares in the Lasallian spirit characterized by “signum fidei.”
