Brief 1 Fine Art Yearbook

What? - Fine Art Yearbook - 132 Pages - any other promotional material, e.g. posters, flyers Why? - client driven - collaboration - professional printed publication - project and time management When? - student layouts - done - need to do projects, welcoem pages, finalise cover, exhibiton info - adapting ‘Original Rework’ concept to flyers and posters - deliverables and content will be required at different points throughtout the progression of the brief Deadline - beginning of May


Brief 2 Fashion Branding

What? - Create a visual identity for Lorin Shepherdson, that coincides with her S/S 12 Collection ‘Sacred Feminine’. - The identity needs to be versatile as it will be used across a range of formats. - visual identity, business stationary, lookbook, promotional flyer/leaflet, exhibition invite, exhibition display signage, packaging (e.g. swing tags, bags, labels), could possibly extend into a website designs. Why? - explore branding and identity - live brief, working with a client - design for the fashion and luxury sector - high spec. When? Week 1 - ideas and concept, research Week 2 - feedback, development, design decisions Week 3 - stationary, leaflet formats, content and info for lookbook, layout designs. Week 4 - Print and stock considerations Week 5 - finalise lookbook (images form Easter photoshoot), print. Deadline: Identity and deliverable by Easter, lookbook by beginning of May.


Brief 3 St. Martin’s Practice

What? - create a visual identity for GP Practice, St. Martin’s, that stands out amongst a competitor in the new building relocation. - must be versatile to adapt from internal and external document (stationary), to interior and exterior signage. - visual identity, stationary, signage (interior and exterior), way finding, uniforms

Why? - explore branding and identity - live brief, working with a client - public sector - signage and environmental graphics - consideration of cost, lower where possible, budget. When? Week 1 - ideas and concepts, research Week 2 - feedback, development Week 3 - work across deliverables, formats - content Week 4 - signage, environmental graphics, research and ideas Week 5 - print Deadline: Deliverable by Easter, signage may extend to beginning of May.


Brief 4 D&AD & Pentagram - The Typographic Circle

What? - D&AD competition brief - 3x supplements for The Typographic Circle magazine ‘Circular’. - each supplement focuses on individual professionals who have previously done a talk at The Typographic Circle. - print and digital versions of the supplement Why? - D&AD brief for portfolio, written by Pentagram. - type, layout and content driven. - stock considerations - mixed media - print publication - adapting work to screen deliverables - high spec When? Week 1 - research speakers, gather content, categorise information, ideas and concept Week 2/3/4 - one week for each supplement design. Week 5 - Printing and binding Deadline: End of Easter deadline

What? - Create a visual identity for a Jewellery brand, that reflects and creates an experience of the cunsumer. - visual identity, packaging (boxes, wrap, receipts, labels, tags, bags) promotional material, stationary, shop signage ( interior and exterior) Why? - explore bradnign and identity - design for the retail and luxury sectors - self initiated - allows design freedom - design for print - various mediums - environmental graphics - high spec.
