This course will familiarize students with the history and evolution of makeup as well as key figures in the industry including make-up artist moguls, brands and companies. The course will educate students on career options within the industry and prepare them to become make-up artists. A list of additional materials required will be provided at the first class session.

Learn and practice professional makeup artistry techniques to develop the necessary skills the industry demands. Prerequisite: CTF 10 Breaking into the Make-Up Artist Industry. Materials fee: $200 for make-up station and supply usage. The materials fee provides students with hygienic products and tools, as well as quality face and color stations. All course materials are utilized in class during class time only. Note: Please bring all materials obtained from CTF 10 with you to this course.

Course will include veterinary terminology, medical and surgical procedures, office administrative functions, becoming a vital part of the animal care team, and more. Note: Some required class hours will be held at an off-site animal care facility.

This course will build upon the knowledge learned in CTF15, focusing on client communications, best practices in animal care, and the roles of each member of the animal care team Prerequisite: CTF 15 Note: 20 hours are required to be completed at an animal care facility. Students are responsible for securing a facility at which they can volunteer to complete these hours. Documentation of completion will be required.

This course covers all of the basics of urban gardening from soil to seed to table. Deepen your understanding of growing edible crops, starting plants from seed, pest management, soil science, and more at KCC Urban Farm. Learn basic skills such as soil conditioning, crop planning, composting, planting, and harvesting to get on your way to producing your own fresh herbs, greens, fruits, and vegetables. This course also covers finding land for gardening in NYC and building a garden from scratch. Materials Fee: $15
