DEAR FRIENDS, As we go to Press with our March newsletter, I am reminded what a great time of year this is to be in Scottsdale; great weather, a plethora of outdoor activities, fine dining, and of course, a thriving art scene that rivals any other major art center in the country! Our Western Classics show, which we host every March, is an event that always brings us back to the very core of what this gallery embodies; the finest in traditional western art. Our show provides a wonderful platform from which to experience both the historic and contemporary west. We are featuring new works from members of the Cowboy Artists of America including Jim Norton and Bill Nebeker as well as award wining contemporary western masters Bill Anton, Z.S Liang, Morgan Weistling, Shawn Cameron, Jeness Cortez, Cynthia Rigden and Stan Davis to name just a few.

Z.S. Liang, No Surrender, 24 x 18 inches, Oil, $14,000 (Sold By Draw)

Meanwhile, March is also a great time to head to Jackson to get in a little downhill skiing. For après ski, please stop by the gallery where our Wildlife Discovery show is currently on display. This annual event showcases iconic wildlife imagery and many of the finest talents in wildlife art are participating including Tucker Smith, Bonnie Marris, James Morgan, Ralph Oberg, Kyle Sims, Dustin Van Wechel, Lindsay Scott and many more. Morgan Weistling, Savannah, 26 x 18 inches, Oil, $23,000 (Sold By Draw)

During our wildlife show we are also pleased to introduce Dutch artist Renso Tamze who has recently joined the gallery. Renso is a young master of realistic watercolor. His technical skills and ability to visualize his ideas and passion for animals through color and composition are superb. Looking ahead to spring, we have our annual East Meets West show in April, which features our incredible roster of Chinese artists. More information on that show will be available in our next newsletter; however, you can get a sneak preview now by visiting our website. As always, I invite you to stop in the galleries or visit us online to view your favorite artists and check on our current and upcoming show schedule. Kind Regards, Maryvonne Leshe Managing Partner

R E N S O TA M S E Trailside Galleries is pleased to now represent the work of wildlife artist Renso Tamze. Born and raised in Rotterdam, Tamze was already drawing and painting at the tender age of four. From a young age, his sole ambition was to be an artist and it was the natural world which most excited his interest. He took courses at the Academy of Visual Arts, where the teaching tended to be skewed to the abstract and modern. However, what spoke to Renso was realism. Today, the overriding passion of this urban artist is to capture the mystical resonances of nature in the wild. In order to understand and experience these wild habitats more profoundly, he is a regular traveler to North America, Great Britain, Switzerland, Germany, Scandinavia and the Pyrenees. The fairytale woods of the Czech Republic likewise count among his favorite destinations; here, the flora and fauna prove to be an inexhaustible source of inspiration.

M I K E M A L M | N E W WO R K S Our Scottsdale gallery is pleased to offer a new selection of paintings by Mike Malm. Mike’s rural surroundings in the beautiful Cache Valley of Northern Utah have influenced much of his subject matter which often includes figures set in landscapes. Mike notes, “I particularly love doing figures, seeing the way light reflects off the skin and the mystery in each person’s eyes. The human figure, in my mind, is the most beautiful of all God’s creations. So much can be communicated through the tilt of the head, or the gesture of a hand. I strive to capture subtle things such as these in hopes of creating something emotional and moving.”
