summer cocktails! When I think of summer, I think of backyard barbecues, al fresco dining, and beaching it up with friends. And all three have one thing in common— they are not complete without your favorite adult beverage in hand. Enjoyed in moderation, of course... When this summer came around, I felt my usual go-to selection was a little tapped out. So I consulted with my experts—from Yonkers, NY to Ridgefield, CT—to find out what our favorite mixologists were whipping up for the summer. I’ve got cocktail recipes from Westchester’s own Chef Peter Kelly to cookbook author Arlen Gargagliano (who makes one killer margarita!). We’ve got enough to pick your poison; gin, vodka, tequila, and sangria are all represented. ELDERFLOWER FIZZ INGREDIENTS ❏ Sugar ❏ Grated Lime Peel ❏ .75 oz. Elderflower Liqueur ❏ 1/2 Half Fresh Lime ❏ 3 oz. Slovenia Vodka ❏ 1 oz. Prosecco ❏ 1 Lime Wedge for Garnish TO MAKE Combine the sugar and the grated lime peel on a flat surface. Rim the glass with a slice of lime, followed by the sugar-lime zest combo. In a shaker, combine the fresh lime juice, Slovenia Vodka and Elderflower Liqueur. Shake over ice. Strain into the glass. Add the Prosecco. Garnish with a lime slice. Enjoy!

ROASTED JALAPEÑO + MANGO MARGARITA INGREDIENTS ❏ Roasted Jalapeño Puree ❏ Mango Puree or Nectar ❏ Fresh Lime ❏ Your Favorite Tequila ❏ Coarse Sea Salt

TO MAKE Add the roasted jalapeno to the mango nectar to your spicy liking. In a shaker, add ice, the jalapeño-mango mixter and tequila. Pop the top on, and shake it up. Serve in a glass rimmed with coarse sea salt.

BASIL LEMONADE INGREDIENTS ❏ 2 oz. Tito’s Vodka ❏ 1 oz. Lemon Juice ❏ 1 oz. Simple Syrup ❏ 2 oz. Water ❏ 4 Leaves of Basil TO MAKE Add all ingredients to mixing glass. Shake 30 times. Pour over ice. Garnish with lemon wedge. (Shake, do not muddle.) INTOXIKATE TIP Don’t have basil? Swap in some fresh thyme for a super refreshing substitute! MAKE IT AT HOME

TO MAKE Use a lime slice to wet the top of the glass. Rim the glass with the hickory smoked sea salt (optional). Add the tequila, lime juice, and orange juice. Shake over ice. Pour in the glass and enjoy!

LYCHEE MARTINI INGREDIENTS ❏ 1.5 oz. Your Favorite Vodka ❏ .5 oz. Soho Lychee Liqueur ❏ 1 oz. Lychee Juice ❏ Lime slice for a quick squeeze and garnish ❏ Lychee for garnish

TO MAKE Combine the vodka, lychee liqueur, lychee juice, and a squeeze of lime in a shaker. Shake over ice. Strain into a martini glass. Add a lychee for garnish. Serve.
