How do we feed 9 billion people a satisfying and sustainable diet in a world with dwindling fossil fuel reserves and mass environmental degradation? – – –

30% of GHGE are generated by the food sector Globally 1.2 billion are starving with the same amount obese. Four companies hold 75% of the market share for food retail in the UK...£1 in £7 spent at Tesco.

What does Locavore do? ●

Shop at 66 Nithsdale Road

Delivery of subscriber veg bag scheme serving 100 households

Catering ●

Providing catering for events, clients include Soil Association and Oxfam.

Providing cookery and gardening workshops

Developing and delivering projects

Delivery of cookery and gardening workshops.

Assisting communities to set up food growing spaces.

Lead member in the Glasgow Local Food Network.

Providing employability training and volunteer opportunities.

What can you do? ●

Become a sustainable farmer, food producer or retailer. Campaign for a better food system. Do what you can to change practice in your work and home life. Eat a more sustainable diet – local, organic, low waste, fair-trade, less but better meat and dairy, less processed. Buy more from good guys and less from bad guys. Spend your money like a vote for the type of world you would like to live in.
