Each winter, South Florida trades white snowflakes for white sandy beaches, icicles for ice cold beverages and boots and gloves for flipflops and baseball caps. For 41 years, winter has been infused with a tropical flare filled with lights, music and fun along the waterway. We are pleased to present the signature event of the holiday season – The Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest® Boat Parade. Winterfest®, Inc. (a not-for-profit 501C4 organization) is forever grateful to our sponsors especially our title sponsor - The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. Our community is extremely fortunate to have such a wonderful partner, for without their support, we would not be able to produce a show of this magnitude and rock South Florida with the most spectacular event on water! With an active board of 50, over 300 volunteers, interns and a staff of three, Winterfest® works to develop a memorable event as diverse as the community it calls home. The theme “Musical Memories” ensures that the Parade will be filled with spectacular entries showcasing a wide spectrum of musical styles guaranteed to entertain throughout the entire 12-mile Parade route. Parade participants are everything from kayaks, sailboats, motorboats, classics, and mega yachts and we expect to see a variety of local charities represented. and television cameras. December 22nd, millions of people will have the opportunity to view the Parade during the Winterfest® television special on WSVN Channel 7. Make sure to give Grand Marshal Deborah Norville an enthusiastic South Florida welcome as she waves to the crowds from the Grand Marshal Showboat, powered by South Florida Ford, while riding on the Nova Southeastern University bow. WINTERFEST® WHITE PARTY The Marriott Harbor Beach of Fort Lauderdale opened its doors to the exclusive Winterfest® kick-off celebration. The Winterfest® White Party is an invitation only event. Musical performances highlighted the Parade’s theme throughout the evening at this party for sponsors, media partners and select Winterfest® guests. Sixth Star Entertainment transformed the courtyard and Ocean Ballroom into a White Winter Wonderland. Models from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, signature bars from Absolut and Moët & Chandon and lounge area from Balmelli Creative. SEMINOLE HARD ROCK Winterfest® Boat Parade CAPTAIN’S MEETING Hosted BY December 10th – 5:30-8:00 pm This is a mandatory meeting for all Boat Parade participants to receive line-up information, rules, and regulations for the Parade. This mandatory meeting will be structured with the manual available to download prior to the meeting. All captains will partake in a review of the waterway and rules prior to enjoying a dinner and reception. Goodie bags will be given out to each captain. CAPTAINS ONLY.

WINTERFEST® STUDENT FANTASY BOAT ART CONTEST Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest® Boat Parade along with longtime supporter YP.com are working together to make this year’s Fantasy Boat Student Art Contest better than ever. Contest entrants (Broward County Students 3rd – 5th grade) can submit drawings of a boat they have seen or would like to see in the Parade. Winners of the contest will appear in select 2013 YP directories. All submitted artwork will be on display at ArtServe on March 7. WE NEED YOU TO BE A CONTROL BOAT Unlike a land Parade where police can put up barricades and rope spectator areas, the waterways are a little more difficult to “fence.” Winterfest® is proud to work with local volunteers, boating clubs and Coast Guard Auxiliary to coordinate our Official Control Boat Fleet. The Control Boater is the additional eyes and ears of the Parade as well as the “line” between the Parade and spectator viewing. If you are a boater who would like to have an up close view of the Parade, please contact the Winterfest® office for Control Boat information.

VOLUNTEER PARTY AT Attention all Winterfest® Volunteers! Volunteers are needed toassist with our events in addition to helping with the pre- and post- needs of the organization. Helpers are needed to distribute brochures and posters as well as working at Winterfest® events such as the Black Tie Ball, Grandstands, and give services the night of the Parade with Control Boats and Ham Operators along the Parade route. BRIDGE OPENINGS & CLOSINGS DECEMBER 15 Traffic will be diverted on the affected bridges both North/South and East/West. Bridges affected by the Parade along the New River and the Intracoastal Waterway are listed below.

Just before the Parade sets underway- Santa checks the route from a helicopter fly by from the United States Coast Guard along the New River and the Intracoastal to see who is naughty and who is nice. Fireworks will herald the beginning of the Parade.

Parade Day –Saturday Dec. 15th closings will be in effect: • New River closes at 2:30 p.m. to non-parade vessels from Davie Boulevard to Marker 9 • Intracoastal Waterway will close at: 5:20 p.m. from Port Everglades to South of Oakland Park Bridge 6:20 p.m. North of Oakland Park Bridge to Lake Santa Barbara • Parade staging/Line Up 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. for ALL Parade Vessels • Parade Start Time: 6:30 p.m., SHARP
