2015 땅고의 날 땅고대상 시상식 공로상 김성공, 올해의 밀롱가상 훈또스 지난 12월 11일은 부에노스 아이레스가 지정한 세계 땅고의 날이다. 아르헨티나의 국민가수 까를로스 가르델(Carlos Gardel) 의 생일이자, 땅고 음악 발전에 지대한 공 헌을 한 훌리오 데 까로(Julio De Caro)의 생일이기도 한 이 날을 기념하여 아르헨티 나 정부가 1977년 국경일로 지정하였다. 사 단법인 아르헨티나 땅고 협회 (이하 KATA) 에서는 세계 땅고의 날을 맞이하여 국내 처 음으로 공식적인 행사를 열고 땅고대상 시 상식을 가졌다. 저녁 8시부터 시작된 이 날 행사는 양재역에 위치한 리세움에서 진행 되었는데, 총 250여명의 땅고인들이 전국 각지에서 모였다. 11시부터 진행된 기념행 사는 네오마 땅고 오케스트라의 연주로 막 을 열었다. 특별히 이 날 행사에는 마침 우리나라를 방문한 밀레나 플렙스(Milena Plebs)의 땅 고의 날 행사 축하 인사가 있었다. 밀레나 플렙스는 오스발도 쏘도(Osvaldo Zotto) 와 더불어 땅고의 암흑기가 끝난 직후인 1970-1980년대의 땅고 아이돌이었다. 밀 레나 플렙스는 우리나라의 첫 땅고의 날 기

념 행사에서 아르헨티나와 지구 반대편의 많은 사람들이 땅고를 즐기고 사랑하는 모 습이 인상적이라고 말하며, 앞으로도 지속 적인 땅고에 대한 열정과 사랑을 당부하였 다. 이어서 땅고의 날 이틀 전인 12월 9일, 유 명한 땅고 가수 알베르또 뽀데스따(Alberto Podesta)의 별세를 추모하는 시간을 가졌 다. 이 날 행사를 축하하기 위해 다니엘 & 이 슬라, 봉봉 & 나비, 아르헨티나 마에스트로 인 로베르또 에레라(Roberto Herrera) & 라 우라 레가스꾸에(Laura Legazcue)의 축하 공연이 펼쳐졌으며, 지난 17년간의 한국 땅 고를 돌아보는 영상을 통해 그간 땅고계에 많은 행사와 발전이 있었음을 살펴보았다. 이어서는 땅고 대상 시상식이 이어졌다. 이 날 시상식에는 공로상과 올해의 밀롱가 상 두 부문의 시상이 있었다. 공로상은 그

동안 우리나라 땅고의 발전에 가장 큰 공헌 을 했다고 생각되는 이들 중에서 선발하였 으며, 공로상 선정 기준은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 우리나라 초기의 땅고를 정착시키 는 데 큰 공헌을 한 사람. 둘째, 우리나라 땅고가 발전하는데 큰 기여를 했다고 생각 되는 사람. 셋째, 동종 업에 10년 이상 일 을 해 온 사람. 넷째, 현재까지도 활동을 하 고 있는 사람. 공로상에는 여러 후보들을 제치고 김성 공이 수상자로 선발되었다. 김성공은 이 날 시상식에 몸이 불편해 참석 하지 못한 관계 로 김탄현(태양속으로)에게 대리시상을 하 였다. 올해의 밀롱가상은 지난 1년간 가장 모범 이 되는 밀롱가를 선정 하였는데, 밀롱가상 의 선정 기준은 다음과 같다. Last December 11th was the World Tango Day as designated by the Argentinian government. This day is the birthday of Carlos Gardel, the most famous and beloved tango singer, and Julio de Caro, who had contributed greatly to the development of tango music. The Korea Argentine Tango Association (KATA) held the first official commemorative event for this special day in Korea, where a tango award ceremony was also conducted. This event took place at 8pm at Lyceum Dancesports Academy at Yangje, Seoul. About 250 tango dancers from all over the country participated. At 11pm, Neoma Tango Orchestra played live music to begin

the official ceremony. After that, Milena Plebs, who was visiting Korea at the time, gave a congratulatory speech. Milena Plebs, together with Migule Angel Zotto, was the tango idol between 1970 to 1980, when tango was going through its revival. Milena Plebs was impressed that there were so many people dancing and loving tango in Korea, which is at the opposite corner of Buenos Aires in the world. She hoped people in Korea will keep following their passion for tango in the future. After Milena’s speech, we held a brief memorial ceremony for the famous tango singer Alberto Podesta, who passed away two days before. Then, the following dancers performed: Daniel & Isla, Bong Bong & Nabi, and Maestro Roberto Herrera & Laura Legazcue. A video summarizing the past 17 years of the history of tango development in Korea was also played. This is followed by the tango award ceremony. Two awards were given: Life-time Achievement Award and Annual Best Milonga Award. The Life-time Achievement award was given to the person who has made the greatest contribution to the growth of tango in Korea. Here arethe criterion: 1) The person has to be one of the pioneers of tango in Korea. 2) He has to contribute greatly to the development of tango in Korea. 3) He has to have worked in tango continuously for more than 10 years. 4) He has to be still working at the present day.
