For the past several years the IAME International Final has slowly but surely assumed increasing importance. My aim is to turn this meeting into a long-term one and to make it bigger while keeping my feet on the ground; and above all to provide the drivers with an event in their own image, one which resembles them in which everybody wants to take part. My objectives are clear: namely, to give every driver the opportunity to fulfill his passion in a prestigious race open to the international scene in which everybody has a chance of winning whatever his kart or his budget. Have I achieved this? I don’t know, but I’m delighted to see the enthusiasm generated this year. We’ve received more than 500 requests for 340 invitations! And as a bonus more than 40 countries are represented. Our motto is conviviality, a great deal of esteem for the drivers, but also a large dose of impartiality and firmness from both a sporting and technical point of view. The X30 engine, which is reliable, quick and economical, has played a major role in the success of this event. In advance, I would like to thank all the staff involved in the organisation, as well as the drivers, personnel, the teams and the IAME importers who will also participate in the success of the 2015 event, as they already do in the regional and national races in the countries where the Challenge X30 is held.

Depuis plusieurs années, la IAME International Final monte en puissance, lentement mais surement. J’ai pour objectif de pérenniser cet évènement, de le faire grandir tout en gardant les pieds sur terres et surtout de proposer aux pilotes une épreuve à leur image, une épreuve qui leur ressemble, une épreuve à laquelle chacun a envie de participer. La volonté est clairement de permettre à chaque pilote d’assouvir sa passion dans une épreuve prestigieuse, tournée vers l’international, où chacun garde ses chances de victoire finale, quel que soit son matériel et quel que soit son budget. Y suis-je arrivé ? Je ne le sais pas mais je suis ravi de constater l’engouement qu’il y a eu cette année : Près de 500 demandes pour 340 invitations ! Avec, en prime, plus de 40 pays représentés. De la convivialité, beaucoup d’estime pour les pilotes mais aussi une grande impartialité et une grande fermeté que ce soit au niveau sportif ou technique. Tel est notre leitmotiv ! Le moteur X30, fiable, performant et économique, participe, lui aussi, au succès de cette épreuve. Je tiens à remercier, par avance, tous le staff d’organisation mais aussi les pilotes, accompagnateurs, teams et importateurs IAME qui vont participer au succès de cette édition 2015 comme ils le font déjà dans les courses régionales et nationales des pays où le Challenge X30 est présent.

Bruno Grana had been involved in karting since its beginnings in Europe in 1959 with Parilla. In 1968, he set up the IAME (Italian American Motor Engineering) in Zingonia near Milan Impliqué dans le karting depuis ses origines en Europe en 1959 avec Par(r)illa, Bruno Grana a créé l’usine de la IAME (Ital American Motor Engineering) en 1968 à Zingonia prés de Milan. Histoire

IAME is the world leading Company in Karting engine production, both for professional and hobby drivers. The history, the numbers and almost 50 world titles confirm it. Nowadays the Company produces 5 to 6 thousand engines per year, with a potential productive capability of 9 thousand units. 55 employees, more than 30 engine variations and almost 60 years of history. In 1958 the first go-kart was built in the USA. Bruno Grana in those years was working for Moto Parilla and when he saw the go-kart, he suddenly fell in love, immediately understanding its potential. In 1959 Grana convinced Parilla to join this new market and enter the history of Karting. Some years later, together with his colleague and friend Cesare Bossaglia, he established Komet, a Company expressly dedicated to the Karting world. 1968 was the decisive year, Parilla and Komet joined together into IAME, "Italian American Motor Engineering" which name comes from the close relation with the United States. With the acquisition of the brands BM and Sirio, Bruno Grana put the basis of what is still today the asset of a worldwide known Company.

La IAME est leader mondial pour la production de moteurs de Karting, destinés à la compétition et au loisir. Le palmarès de la firme est riche de près de 50 titres mondiaux. La production annuelle atteint 5 à 6000 moteurs, mais le potentiel de son outil industriel pourrait lui permettre d’en produire 9000. Créée il y a presque 60 ans, l’entreprise emploie 55 personnes et son catalogue propose plus de trente modèles de moteurs. En 1958, quand le premier kart a été construit aux Etats-Unis, Bruno Grana travaillait chez Moto Parilla. Quand il a découvert le kart, il a tout de suite été séduit. Il a tout aussi rapidement compris l’ampleur qu’allait prendre le phénomène. En 1959, Bruno Grana a convaincu Parilla qu’il fallait s’attaquer à ce nouveau marché. Ils sont ainsi entrés ensemble dans la légende du Karting. Quelques années plus tard, en compagnie de son collègue et ami Cesare Bossaglia, il a créé Komet, une société totalement dédiée au monde du Karting. 1968 fut une année décisive, quand Parilla et Komet fusionnèrent sous le nom de IAME : « Italian American Motor Engineering », en référence aux relations étroites entre les créateurs de la IAME et les Etats-Unis. Par l’acquisition des marques BM et Sirio, Bruno Grana a jeté les bases de ce qui est toujours aujourd’hui une société mondialement connue.

In IAME history meets technology. All the experience achieved in more than 50 years of production is wisely managed by advanced and last generation machineries. Every unit is managed through sophisticated computers: since the idea of the engine in the designers' mind, to its delivery throughout the world. Technical unit, Research & Development, Quality Control, Production, Race Department, Logistic, all the production units are in constant interaction and, together with the most qualified technicians, and three-dimensional software and structural calculation, inertial test benches, CNC lathes, endoscopies, durometers, microscopes up to 1000 magnifications, they give life to the IAME engines, products of unquestioned Made In Italy quality.

Division technique, recherche et développement, contrôle qualité, production, département compétition, logistique, chaque unité est en interaction avec les autres. The Engines The IAME production started in the late 60s with the first Karting engines, characterized by the rotary valve admission system and forced air cooling system with a fan directly mounted on the crankshaft. In the 70s and 80s the evolution concerns the introduction of the free air cooling system and in the sequent decade life is given

to the engines dedicated to international racing categories. In the early 90s the reed valve admission system is introduced and with the coming of the new century the water cooled engines are being brought to the market, together with digital timing systems with variable timing curve and rpm limiter.

Drivers Out of the drivers who made the history of Motorsport, most have started with Karting and many have chosen IAME racing engines. Among them there are not only those drivers who then became F1 stars as Fernando Alonso, but also those who have chosen and achieved to write the history of Karting, as Mike Wilson or François Goldstein. These are only a few, among the many, who have contributed to help IAME gain more than 40 world titles: Fernando Alonso, Kimi Raikkonen, Lewis Hamilton, Nico Rosberg, Jarno Trulli, Alain Prost, Riccardo Patrese, Mike Wilson, Giorgio Pantano, Terry Fullerton, Jan Magnussen The IAME X30 125cc RL-TaG is a 1-cylinder 2 strokes water cooled engine and it is the result of the combination of technical innovations directly derived from IAME's long racing tradition and the experience achieved in more than 10 years of TaG engines development. The result of such union is a high performance and high reliability engine. The cranckcase and the cylinder are made in aluminium alloy and the liner is in cast iron, ensuring high stability and high fluency and a very high precision of the transferts and the exhaust ports. The cranckshaft is made of cemented and tempered steel and is supported by oversized roller bearings, the countershaft allows a perfect overall balance and a drastic reduction in vibrations. The digital ignition provides the power to start the engine and to charge the battery. The electronic box controls the advance timing and the spark generation, it limits the rpms at 16.000, manages the start/stop of the engine and includes the tension regulator. The centrifugal dry

clutch with detachable sprocket requires minimal service. The diaphragm carburettor, a key feature in Karting engines, is the Tryton HB27-C specifically made for the X30. It comes with a fuel filter integrated in the fuel pump. The inlet silencer is originally equipped with an air filter to implement the reliability of the engine and to avoid problems caused by accidental intake of filth. The engine is provided with all needed accessories for the correct functioning: complete exhaust system, radiator, water pump, supports, clamps and hoses, thermostat, wires and keys block. The X30 engine is also available in the Junior version with a 29mm restricted exhaust header, intended for younger drivers. The X30 Super Shifter 175cc TaG is the engine for the ultimate driving experience. This sensational engine features an extremely exciting power output, close to the top KZ engines, combined with super reliability and the electric start. The outcome is an engine ready to satisfy the most demanding gearbox fans. The X30 Super Shifter is a 6 speed engine, a tight relative of the IAME Drifter, winner of the CIK-FIA European KZ Championship; single-cylinder, two-stroke, 175cc displacement, float carburettor (Dell'orto VHSB 36 RD) and electric starter. Maximum rotation speed is set at 13,700 RPM with a power output of 49 HP. The engine, sold all around the world, is used in the X30 Super Shifter categories in the different stock class championships quickly growing in many countries, as well as in the international IAME races: the X30 Challenge Europa and the IAME International Final.

Pilotes Parmi les pilotes qui sont entrés dans l’histoire des sports mécaniques, nombreux sont ceux qui ont débuté par le Karting et qui ont choisi un moteur IAME. Certains ne sont pas devenus des stars de la Formule 1, ils ont choisi de poursuivre leur carrière en Karting, au point, à l’image de Mike Wilson ou de François Goldstein, de devenir de véritables légendes de ce sport. Voici quelques noms qui ont contribué aux plus de 40 titres mondiaux pour la IAME : Fernando Alonso, Kimi Raikkonen, Lewis Hamilton, Nico Rosberg, Jarno Trulli, Alain Prost, Riccardo Patrese, Mike Wilson, Giorgio Pantano, Terry Fullerton, Jan Magnussen Le IAME X30 125cc RL TaG est un moteur monocylindre 2 temps à refroidissement liquide. Il est le fruit d’une combinaison d’innovations techniques héritées directement de la longue tradition de la IAME en tant que spécialiste des moteurs de karting et de plus de dix années d’expérience du développement de la technologie TaG (Touch and Go, à démarreur électrique). Il en résulte de hautes performances alliées à une excellente fiabilité. Carter et cylindre sont en alliage d'aluminium et la chemise est en fonte, ce qui assure une haute stabilité ainsi qu’une excellente précision des canaux de transfert et des lumières d’échappement. Le vilebrequin est réalisé en acier cémenté et trempé, il est soutenu par des roulements sur paliers surdimensionnés. L’arbre d’équilibrage permet un équilibre parfait et une réduction drastique des vibrations. L’allumage digital délivre la puissance nécessaire pour démarrer le moteur et recharger la batterie. Le boîtier électronique contrôle l’avance à l’allumage et génère l’étincelle de la bougie. Il limite le régime du moteur à 16.000 tours/minute, gère le démarrage et l’arrêt du moteur. Il est

également doté d’un régulateur de tension. L’embrayage à sec centrifuge avec pignon détachable ne nécessite qu’un entretien minimum. Le carburateur à membrane, un élément clé pour un moteur de karting, est le Tryton HB27-C, conçu spécialement pour le X30. La pompe à essence incorpore un filtre à essence. Le silencieux d’admission est équipé d’origine d’un filtre à air pour éviter l’entrée dans le moteur de tout corps étranger, au bénéfice de la fiabilité. Le moteur est fourni avec tous les accessoires indispensables pour une bonne utilisation : système d’échappement complet, radiateur, pompe à eau, éléments de fixation, durits et colliers, thermostat, faisceau et clés pour le démarrage et l’arrêt du moteur. Le moteur X30 existe aussi en version junior avec un restricteur d’échappement de 29mm pour les jeunes pilotes. Le X30 Super Shifter 175cc TaG est le moteur du pilotage extrême. Sa formidable puissance le rapproche des meilleurs propulseurs KZ, combiné à une excellente fiabilité, avec en plus l’agrément du démarreur électrique. Le résultat est un moteur de nature à satisfaire les plus exigeants adeptes du kart à boite de vitesses. Le X30 Super Shifter est un moteur à boite de vitesses à six rapports, proche parent du Parilla Drifter des catégories KZ, sacré champion d’Europe CIK/FIA. Il s’agit d’un moteur monocylindre 2 temps d’une cylindrée de 175cc, avec carburateur à cuve (Dell’orto VHSB 36 RD) et démarreur électrique. Le régime est limité à 17.300 tours/minute et la puissance est de 49 chevaux. Ce moteur, distribué dans le monde entier, est éligible dans les épreuves de la catégorie monomarque X30 Super Shifter, en constant développement, ainsi que dans les épreuves internationales IAME : le Challenge Europa et la Finale Internationale. 13

Deux pilotes sur une même marche du podium en X30 Master: quelque peu bousculé par Hill, qui est arrivé en tête avec 4 cm d’avance sur la ligne, Foster (à droite) n’a donc pas perdu sa première place. Mérité !

IAME-Belgium challenges are organized through 2 official championships (ASAF & RACB) in Belgium. All The IAME classes are represented from Mini-Kart to Shifters. Belgium is surely the most competitive X30 championship in Europe and foreigners are authorized to all the meetings. The organizators are independent to guarantee the highest technical and sporting fairness while a very performant bar code tires distribution, checked by bar code systems. Scrutineers are perpetually up-dated and have all the last tools from IAME factory to detect any cheating. Costs are mastered.
