Stern Architects | Architectural Intern | May 2011 – August 2011 | New York, NY • Designed a new residential college for a competition at University of Colorado in Boulder. Involvement included preliminary design sketches and study models. Weekly design critiques with Mr. Stern. • Produced construction drawings for residential apartment build-outs. Projects included a Penthouse duplex in Los Angeles as well as several apartment renovations in New York City. • Prepared preliminary design sketches for a development meeting. Design called for a renovation of the existing building into high-end apartment units in New York City. Carmen Guerrero Design Studio | Architectural Intern | July 2010 – May 2011 | Miami, FL • Produced construction document set for a renovation and addition of an existing home in Coral Gables, FL. Performed field survey of existing structure, code research and coordination with consultants. • Project design and delivery of a privacy wall for a home in Coral Gables, FL. Sheeley Architects | Architectural Intern | Jan. 2005 - Jan. 2008 | Ft. Myers, FL • Field survey and drawing verification of an existing office building. The Project included a total building renovation into a medical facility and leasable tenant space. • Aided in design and construction documents of commercial buildings. Project types included retail and commercial buildings.

RESEARCH + TEACHING EXPERIENCE Italian Rationalism | Research Assistant | Spring + Fall 2010 | Rome, Italy + Miami, FL • Documented the Roman Palazzina, a modern housing typology. • Refurbished two models for the inaugural exhibition at the MAXXI Museum in Rome, Italy. • Created two models and supporting drawings that were on display at the EUR museum in Rome, Italy (Fall 2011). Univ. of Miami School of Architecture | Rome Program Assistant | July 2010 – May 2011 | Miami, FL • Aided faculty in preparing course documents and syllabi for coursework. • Researched various topics pertaining to courses. • Coordinated Rome Program applications. Explorations Architecture Program | Teaching Assistant | Summer 2010 | Miami, FL • Mentored fifteen high school Juniors and Seniors interested pursuing a career in design. • Assisted students throughout design and technical drawing coursework. • Introduced fundamentals of design and architecture and explored Greek and Roman building types.

Developed an iterative construction system for a rapidly deployable shelter. Through layering of locally available materials, the structure’s stability increases over time. School in the year 2030 | Rio de Janeiro, Brazil | Spring 2012 • Documentation and urban analysis of informal housing settlements in Complexo do Alemão, the largest informal settlement in Rio de Janeiro. Project design included water control infrastructure and civic facilities. Studio’s work was featured in a presentation to local residents. Rome Program | Rome, Italy | January 2010 - May 2010 • Italian Rationalism, Advanced Visual Studies, Architecture and Urbanism of Ancient to Modern Rome were topics studied during my semester in Rome. I refurbished a series of models in preparation for the exhibit, “Luigi Moretti Architetto: From Rationalism to the Informal”, at the MAXXI museum. Open City Studio | Tokyo, Kyoto, Beijing, Shanghai | Summer 2009 • Documentation of Urban building types with a focus on compact commercial spaces. A study of Shinto and Buddhist temple architecture complimented the urban analysis.
