20th Century Decorative Arts & Modern Sunday, January 12th 10AM // Held at our auction gallery 117 Elliott Street, Beverly, Massachusetts Preview: Thursday - Saturday, January 9th - 11th, 10AM - 5PM, Day of sale beginning at 8AM. Items of note include a gorgeous pair of Swedish “onion” lamps of monumental size, descended from a local Peabody, MA collector, as well as an outstanding Christo lithograph entitled “Wrapped Trees, Project for Avenue de Champs Elysees, Paris”. The beautiful color lithograph is descended from Christo and Jeanne-Claude, prior to her death, as an outright donation benefiting Ovarian Cancer Research at the Massachusetts General Hospital Fundraising Auction in 2007. Also featuring mid-century furniture by Axel Christiansen, George Nelson for Herman Miller, Arne Norell, Knoll and Plycraft, plus Fine Art works by Robert Natkin, Elaine de Kooning, Josef Albers, Pablo Picasso and an exact replica of “Jeune Fille et sa Suite” (Young Woman and Her Suitors) attributed to Alexander Calder.

Fine textiles and rare jade pieces will be the highlight of the January Asian sale at Kaminski Auctions, including an imperial Qing Dynasty silk kesi dragon robe and an exquisite 18th century white jade cup. Also offered are items from two important New England collections, one acquired in the 1950s from Frank Caro, the successor of well-known dealer C.T. Loo, the other from the family of Lawrence Mead, co-director of the International Student Association of Greater Boston, who spent many years teaching English at Beijing University in the 1930s.
