王新懷:「患病雖然是不幸,但我能夠與病共存,全因身邊很多人的支持,我覺得這樣反而是一種幸福。」 Mr Wong, “It is difficult, but I am able to learn to live with my illness, all because of the support of my loved ones around. I feel so blessed.”

謝惠如:「回想當年新婚後便要經歷生關死劫,沒想到後來還可以為家庭帶來新生命,現在一對仔女都長大了,我覺得自 己完成了使命,很滿足了。」 Ms Tse, ”Just after our wedding, I was nearly killed by this rare disease and did not expect later I was able to bring new life to the family. Now that my two children have grown up, I feel so complete.”

翁賜經:「我的妹妹比我年輕 20 歲,1966 年她十幾歲來香港時我們才初次見面。現在她照顧我,多謝她!」 Mr Yung, “My sister is 20 years younger than me. In 1966, we met for the first time when she came to Hong Kong in her teens. Now she takes care of me, I want to say thank you to her!”

連繫,一班人 就記錄人與世界的關係而言,攝影是最為具體 的。或者說,無論如何,要拍攝一個純粹而脫 離世界關係的人是不可能的,因為照片之中最 少也有人和光、時間的關係。看人的照片,就 是看人與世界的關係。我們喜歡拍大合照,這 不單反映我們重視互相之間的關係,更因為拍 大合照是把無形的象徵,轉化為具體的形象, 是一個肯定關係的儀式。

連繫——「一班人」工作坊以「人的集體」作 為議題,以人文及美學角度,運用攝影探討人 的關係和集體背後的故事,希望藉作品呈現人 類連繫的價值,並反映社會境況。本課程分為 理論及技巧訓練、案例實習和個人作品三部分。 實習方面,導師帶領學員參與其攝影計劃,到 醫院為末期病人拍攝家庭照,希望透過特殊的 題材和拍攝經歷,幫助了解群像攝影的技術運 作,也明白攝者跟被攝者的互動關係。

在個人作品方面,各學員都因應自定的對象, 以不同的形式為他們拍攝一幅合照及一輯影像 故事。學員來自不同背景,大都是首次以系列 影像形式去構思作品,在過程中他們都遇到不 同的困難,除了拍攝技術及掌控影像語言之外, 尋找對象、溝通和把握拍攝機會等,都令他們 體會到人的互信和連繫是得來不易,這更顯得 攝影作為肯定關係的儀式,其意義重大。

他們的「禮物」

The “gifts”

他們本來互不相識,但因為一個信念所以聚在

This series of images are not romanticised portraits of farmers or organic agriculture, but instead a rather personal observation towards these individuals who are attempting and struggling to live differently.

Motorbikers

音「街」 Busking,一班年輕人(阿嵐、Kelvin 和 Tommy)不約而 同走到街上表演,向路人宣揚自己的音樂。他們在公共空 間唱歌,可能只得到途人的幾秒注目,亦會有一些人停下 來細心欣賞。

而最難得的是,以一種以歌會友的心態獻唱,更能聚集到 一班志同道合的朋友或其他表演者。

可能有些人覺得 busking 只是一種表演方式,可能是「賣 唱」。但我覺得 busking 是一種精神,一種感染力,一種 凝聚力量。

而音樂,聚集了這班人。

老豆 這個攝影作品的意念是來自我和爸爸的關係,我記得童年 時我和爸爸是比較親近,相反到長大後,我覺得我和他的 關係好似很熟悉,但又好陌生。在家中,他很少講自己的 事,在單獨相處時,我們都不會有太多說話,所以今次「連 繫,一班人」的主題,是一個主動去了解我爸爸的好機會, 透過觀察、訪問他和地盤的拍檔,以攝影出發,再次認識 他多一點,以作品拉近彼此之間的連繫。今次攝影的過程 很難忘,因為我第一次跟爸爸一大朝早去地盤和接爸爸放 工。

What do you think about my dad? “He is a crazy guy, but he appears different in front of his children. He is also bold and generous… He treats me to meals quite often.”

霉菌 我有愛強迫自己的特點。例如霉菌,驟眼一瞥,很醜,但我總忍不住要看。 霉菌的特性,和人與人的關係有點相似,不經意地,可以成為人的力量, 亦可以使人腐敗,但人擺脫不了人,需要彼此依附。

我明明不喜歡和陌生人接觸,卻又像抗拒不了霉菌一樣,喜歡跑到劇場把 自己暴露人前。在「一人一故事」劇場裡,我作為觀眾,可以說出親身經歷, 演員會即興地把我的故事搬到舞台上演出,他們稱之為送給觀眾的禮物。 不管故事是好是壞,演員及其他觀眾都會接納,然而,這種接納,是有限 期的,會消散的,但正因為彼此只是萍水相逢,才會有這種溫柔。

Mould I like to make myself do something I do not like, such as looking at mould. It looks ugly at first glance, but I feel driven to look at it. Some characteristics of mould are similar to the relationship between people. While human relationships can give us power, they can also decay us. But after all, one cannot get away from others. We are attached to one another.

I do not like meeting new people. But like the case of mould, I like exposing myself to theatre environments. In Playback Theatre, I could tell my personal stories as an audience. Then, the performers would act out impromptu plays on stage. They call this a present to the audience. Whether my experience is good or bad, the performers and the other audience accept it anyway. This acceptance is limited to the time when we are in the theatre. It would disappear. Nevertheless, this gentleness only exist because we are strangers meeting by chance.

During the workshop, Artist Educator Thomas Lin recommended the work of Japanese photographer Masashi Asada to his students. Group photography, which Asada regards as “commemorative pictures”, is one major aspect of his photography practice. In 2009, he received the 34th Kimura Ihei Memorial Photography Award for his series “Asadake”. Lin has invited Asada to comment on some participants' photo series. Below is his critique: Chan Ka Man I didn't know there is a busking couple in Hong Kong! In Japan, it is difficult to find such photo subjects . The photographer made good use of long exposures to show how few audience there were during the gigs. It would be even more interesting to include photos of different performers at various locations. Shirley Chan Although this series is about collecting rubbish, it has a nice positive vibe. The rubbish close-ups are very good. It would be great to have more of them. People can use this series to attract more volunteers! Dorothy Cheung The photographer chose to keep a distance from her photo subjects, which is a good idea. She managed to show the simple and down-to-earth lifestyle of her photo subjects and deliver her message. She has a good visual sense.

Alex Fok Fascinating photo subjects. The photographer could have capture d e ven more interesting moments. I would suggest taking more photos of the games instead of people. It might be more challenging, but I can foresee interesting results. Summer Lin The first one is very good and is my favourite. It can be developed into a series if you do 50 of these. Keep taking photos. Cindy Ng The first and the third shots are my favourite. It would be even better to try out more angles and compositions. Sharon Tsang Here I can feel the chemistry between father and daughter. The photographer went to her father's workplace and met his co-workers. She must have discovered a different side of her dad. It's a great thing to do in the long run. Wong Chiu Yi What a fascinating idea to put mould and actors together in a series. Perhaps it'd be even better to include more mould photos. I'm happy that the photographer pays attention to things others usually don't notice.

Chim Chi Ho I'm so moved by this series . I can feel that something is going to happen. How will they feel when they see this portrait 30 years later? I suggest showing the photo where one can see it every day.
