Named the 24th head men’s basketball coach at Kansas State on March 31, 2012, Weber enjoyed a memorable first season in Manhattan as he led the Wildcats to a 27-8 overall record and a share of their first conference title since 1977 with a 14-4 Big 12 mark. He is just the third first-year coach to win the Big 12 title since the league’s inception in 1997, while his 27 wins are the third-most by a rookie coach in conference history. The team advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the 27th time, including a school-record tying fourth consecutive season, and received its third-highest seed - No. 4 in the West Regional - in school history. He has compiled a 340-163 record in 15 seasons as a head coach, while his teams have participated in postseason play 11 times, including nine NCAA Tournament appearances. He has advanced to the Sweet 16 three times, while his 2004-05 Illinois squad advanced to the Final Four and played North Carolina for the NCAA Championship. Weber’s teams have won six conference regular season and tournament titles, including the 2002 and 2003 Missouri Valley, 2004 and 2005 Big Ten and 2013 Big 12 regular season titles. He has won 20+ games in 11 of his 15 campaigns and he has averaged 22.7 victories a season in his career.
