CHARLIE THOMAS Senior Associate Athletics Director/ Facility Operations South Florida ’81 Charlie Thomas joined the K-State staff in 1987 as Director of Bramlage Coliseum. He has since been elevated to Senior Associate Athletics Director for Facility Operations. In his position, Thomas manages all administrative and facility operations of Bramlage Coliseum. Before coming to K-State, Thomas spent five years as the Associate Director of the SunDome for the University of South Florida in Tampa, Fla. A native of Tallahassee, Fla., he received his bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communications from South Florida in 1981. Thomas holds professional memberships in the Association of Arena Managers and the Rotary Club. He is married to Sue Peterson, Kansas State’s Assistant to the President for Governmental Relations.

CASEY SCOTT Assoc. Athletics Director/ Operations Kansas State ’77 Now is his 25th season in athletics administration, Casey Scott has been a member of the K-State athletics staff since January 2002. A graduate of Kansas State University from Wichita, Kan., Scott directs the Athletics Operations unit overseeing the department’s game management and special event operations. He also supervises the sports information office, the department’s strength and conditioning program and serves as administrator for the sports of baseball, men’s golf and women’s golf. Since joining the staff at K-State, Scott has helped successfully direct two NCAA women’s basketball tournaments, three NCAA volleyball tournaments, two National Invitation Tournaments, the pre- and post-season WNIT, the Big 12 Conference outdoor track and field championships, cross country championships and men’s golf championship. He has been instrumental in the negotiation and staging of what has become an annual men’s basketball game in the Sprint Center in Kansas City, and will head up K-State’s operational effort for the Iowa State-Kansas State football game in Arrowhead Stadium in 2009 and 2010. Prior to his appointment at K-State, Scott served as Associate Athletics Director for External Operations at Colorado State University, where he oversaw the Rams’ marketing, development, ticketing and special-event operations. After serving for eight years as a staff writer in news and sports at The Wichita Eagle-Beacon, Scott began his athletics administration career in 1985 as Sports Information Director 198 KANSAS STATE FOOTBALL

at Wichita State University. During his more than 12 years on the Shocker staff, he served in roles as Assistant Athletics Director for External Operations, Facilities and Events, and Associate Athletics Director until leaving for Colorado State in 1998. Scott earned a B.S. in journalism and mass communication from Kansas State in 1977. He and his wife, Christy, have a son, Brett, and a daughter, Shannon.

CHAD WEIBERG Assoc. Athletics Director/ Development Oklahoma State ’94 Chad Weiberg is in his fifth year at Kansas State and his second as Associate Athletics Director for Development. His responsibilities include the Ahearn Fund, Ernie Barrett Athletic Endowment Society and Wildcat Victory campaign for facilities. Weiberg came to the athletics department as Director of Major Gifts in 2005 after serving one year as the Director of Corporate Relations for the K-State Foundation. In that position, he coordinated campus-wide efforts to raise money for the university from major corporations. Prior to coming to K-State in 2004, Weiberg spent the previous nine years in various capacities at his alma mater, Oklahoma State. He began his tenure as a development officer in the athletics department in 1995 where he sold sponsorship opportunities, including signage at sporting venues, advertising on the coaches’ radio and television shows as well as gameday suites. Weiberg moved to the school’s alumni association in 1999, where he served as the director of field operations for three years. He coordinated all alumni chapters and served as a liaison with the athletics department. From there, he moved to the OSU Foundation where he spent one year as the director of development for the College of Business before taking a position as the director of development for the athletics department in 2003. In this position, Weiberg helped raise money for the expansion and renovation of Boone Pickens Stadium. Weiberg received a bachelor’s degree in business administration in 1994 and a master’s in business administration in 2002 from Oklahoma State. A native of Tonkawa, Okla., Weiberg is married to the former Jodi McGatlin, a 1990 K-State graduate and the current vice president of alumni programs for the K-State Alumni Association. They have two children, Ella and Grant.

LON FLOYD Asst. Athletics Director/ Catbacker Clubs Kansas State ’67 Lon Floyd is in his 15th year at Kansas State and his first as Assistant Athletics Director for Catbacker Clubs. His duties include organizing and administrating Catbacker Club events, coordinating CatTown activities, the Cabela’s Ahearn Scholarship Fishing Tournament and the Steer-AYear Drive. Floyd earned his bachelor’s degree in physical education in 1967 and a master’s in physical eduction in 1971 at Kansas State. He served as an assistant track coach from 1969-73 under former head coach and current Texas athletics director DeLoss Dodds. Floyd helped the team to four top-25 finishes at the NCAA Indoor Championships and two top-20 finishes at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. He then worked in administration at the Kingman (Kan.) school district from 1973-81. Prior to re-joining the K-State staff in 1996, Floyd was a State Farm Insurance agent from 1981-96. An accomplished auctioneer, Floyd served as the meet director for the 2005 Big 12 Outdoor Track and Field Championships held at Kansas State. He served as meet manager and referee at the Big 12 Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field Championships for 24 years. A native of Kinsley, Kan., Floyd has two children, Michael, a 1995 K-State graduate, and Stacey, a 1998 graduate.

JILL SHIELDS Asst. Athletics Director/ Student Services Central Florida ’90 Jill Shields is in her 11th year in the K-State Student Services department, her first as an Assistant Athletics Director for Student Services. She will be directing all aspects of the academic support programs and student services for athletics. She previously worked as the Associate Director of the program with stints directing the support services for football, women's basketball and volleyball, as well as Life Skills programming. Shields came to K-State after working at Wichita State for six years, including the last year as a senior admissions representative in the University’s admissions office. She spent the previous five seasons as an assistant women’s basketball coach for the Shockers. Shields earned her bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts from the University of Central Florida in 1990. A member of the Golden Knights basketball team, she was named most valuable player her senior year. Shields earned her Master’s of Education degree from North Georgia College in 1992. A native of Assaria, Kan., she and her husband, Mark, live in Manhattan with their two children, Sydney and Sam.
