JA Canada’s Pillars Financial Literacy Achievers save more, borrow less, and do better financially than the average Canadian. By building youth’s knowledge at an early age, JA prepares them to make sound financial decisions throughout their lives. JA empowers students, starting in elementary school, to make smart, lifelong financial choices. Through its financial literacy programs, students learn how to create and manage money, developing skills in areas such as budgeting, investing and creating financial plans.

Work Readiness JA Achievers are more likely to stay in school and earn more than students who don’t participate in our programs. JA’s work readiness programs give students invaluable career-building skills that they can use throughout their lives. Students learn how to communicate, network, interview for jobs, and collaborate with diverse groups of people to achieve common goals.

Entrepreneurship JA graduates are more likely to launch their own business, leading to job creation and direct impact on the Canadian economy. JA accelerates growth and cultivates youth spirit by providing the experience and expertise needed to become Canada’s future successful entrepreneurs. In JA entrepreneurship programs, students gain first-hand experience in running a successful business. They learn how to create business plans, innovate, manage teams and take a new product to market. Achiever results based on: The Boston Consulting Group Report, 2011.
