At the King George County Parks and Recreation Department the credo “We Create Community through People, Parks and Programs” has been, and continues to be, the ongoing drive for staff to plan, develop and implement programs and facilities. Through our variety of activities, we have long been able to bring participants from all walks of life together providing them opportunities to try new experiences or build on their interests, meet new acquaintances with similar interests, enhance their health and well-being physically and mentally, and afford families time to recreate together. Whatever the reason, we want to help you enhance your well-being.
In the Fall (September), Winter (January) and Spring/Summer (May) the Department distributes our program/ activity guide, Sir Leisure A’Lot. Our guide contains general information about the Department, program registration details, a listing of activities serving the young to the young-at-heart in athletic programs, health and fitness programs, day/ multi-day/overnight trips, enrichment and special interest programs and special events. In the course of a year, we will offer well over 120 programs equating to approximately 200 plus opportunities to participate. Check it out! If you do not see a program that grabs
