2ND PLACE Kaley Moore Stony Point High School Round Rock, TX Rebecca Plumley, adviser Dominance can be achieved not only through the placement of one large photo but also through the creation of a collection of photos. This designer takes advantage of this technique but then continues to follow design rules by making one of the photos within the module more dominant than the others. The use of modules also allows for interesting coverage of a variety of topics.

3rd PLACE Millie Dinkel Shawnee Mission East High School Prairie Village, KS C. Dow Tate, adviser Eye flow is created in this spread by a wise choice for the dominant photo. The viewer’s eyes are first drawn from the headline Everyday is a Holiday to the subheadline, Holiday Best, by the visual focus of the boy in the sombrero. His pointing finger then guides the reader’s attention to the photo module. Engaging photography and the inclusion of many students makes this layout a show stopper.
