Project Statement Project Statement
Background -‐ For this project, we are assigned to choose an existing editorial and create an illustration that depicts the issue that’s being discussed. I am doing my project on an article about obesity in USA. I choose this article because obesity has become an issue for so long now so I want to participate in the awareness by making this illustration. Target Audience -‐ With my communication, I will have my audience to be around 9-60 years old. Preferably teenager but not limited to parents who have concern about this issue.
Objectives -‐ After my audience gets the chance to experience this communication, I want them to seriously think more about what is being addressed in the illustration. I want them to really get the reality that obesity keep on rising in USA and it isn’t healthy so we need to stop them. Key benefit -‐ Upon reading the objectives that I have set, I hope that my audience will benefit from it. I hope there will be more awareness towards obesity so that it won’t keep on rising each year. Support Statement -‐ Obesity has always been an on going issue in our society. Many parents have realized this issue and try to put a stop on it. I personally think that to stop this obesity, parents and children should work together. Children themselves should realized that obesity is not healthy for their health and they should step-by-step learn to grow out of it. Tone -‐ For this project, I want my communication to have a friendly tone. I want my younger audience to fill intrigue looking at the illustration and they would want to read the article. The reason why I choose the friendly tone is because I want to reach not only older audiences but also the younger ones. Media -‐ I would want my communication to take form as not only editorial illustration but maybe a poster to raise an awareness towards obesity.
