BACKGROUND AND INSTRUCTIONS: Futures Magazine is looking for qualified Army Reserve Soldiers to feature in their annual magazine. If selected, not only do you have a chance to be highlighted in Futures but in other advertising venues nationwide that support stories of Army Reserve options and opportunities. Don't miss this opportunity to be a part of the Army Reserve's National Advertising Campaign. Futures is an annual publication of the Department of Defense that features articles on men and women from all branches of the Military. Reading about their experiences gives a look into military life, its rewards and its challenges. Futures is highlighted on todaysmilitary.com where readers can hear more from the service members who shared their stories in Futures, their choice to serve, their careers, their experiences in the Military and more. http://www.todaysmilitary.com/futures <blockedhttp://www.todaysmilitary.com/futures> This casting call/photo shoot is a special project that links military careers to personal interests and highlights the unique aspects of being both a Soldier and a civilian in the reserve component. The team would

like to interview service members who would not only talk to us about their service, but would also be willing to discuss and show us aspects of their personal life. This could include showing us their living quarters, talking to us about how the food is in the dining facility or allowing us to photograph them during some of their interesting off-duty activities. We're looking to maintain balance in race, ethnicity and gender in the selection of Soldiers to keep the magazine diverse. 2) YOUNGER LOOK (up to age 35). While we are accepting applications from ages up to 35, and experience and achievement can serve as great motivators, students (for the purposes of our first shoot with "Futures") relate best to people closest to their own age. Younger interviewees (18 - 22 years old, "younger look" preferred but not required) with careers that will provide action type shots (not sitting behind a desk) are best. 3) VISUALLY COMPELLING. As we live in a visual world, our selections must be visually compelling, so ensure that you submit a quality photo

that best represents you. 4) CHARACTER. We require Soldiers of good character and good standing in the unit (just as we do for school selections/promotions etc.). REMEMBER, ALL PACKETS MUST BE RECEIVED BY 25 OCTOBER 2010. Questions? Contact kristen.carle@us.army.mil.
