It was the unknown for GMR - Volvo Polestar heading into Round 1 of the 2014 V8SC Championship but Kiwi driver Scott McLaughlin showed the pace of the Volvo qualifying 5th for race one and finishing 7th. Race 2 was an exciting race in the final few laps with a hard battle between Jamie Whincup and Scott McLaughlin. The pair battling all the way till the final corner where the Kiwi got passed the Champ and came 2nd over Craig Lowndes. The podium interview with the Volvo driver created a lot of hype when asked what happened on the final turn he replied; Just plucked her in first, gave it some Jandal and F@#k Yeah!! Tee-Shirts, Spongebob remixes and many more where amongst the hype of the saying. Race 3 was full of carnage and controversy. Firstly Will Davison’s Mercedes was sent into the wall at turn 8 by James Moffat, then on the controversial restart procedure Jason Bright was flipped over at the Senna Chicane and fired across track into the tyre’s launching it into the fence. J.Courtney becoming Clipsal Champ for 2014

Round 2 of the Championship and Red Bull Racing continued their dominance with Jamie Whincup claiming all 3 Armor All Pole Positions and wining 2 out of 3 races with stable mate Craig Lowndes claiming the third race. But it didn’t come without controversy for Whincup in race 4 after a very dodgy pass on his team mate for the lead ran Lowndes off the road and into the gravel and putting him down the order to finish 8th and Jamie winning the race. Race 5 was full of action starting on lap one with Will Davison running off into the sand at the hair-pin as Courtney & Dahlgren spun at the hair pin also. Then Lee Holdsworth’s Mercedes was sandwiched between Tander and Reynolds at turn 1 and launched into the air. Chaz Mostert hit Kelly sending Kelly into the gravel at the end of the straight. Race 6 was full of true and hard racing, all 3 kiwis were battling it out at one point. Scott McLaughlin was fighting Whincup out of the pits and was hit by Tander as he exited pit lane. Erebus claiming a 4th, there equaling their best result.
