Charleston Southern University Transform Campaign

(continued) Our nursing program is, in short, both world-class and essential, providing critical training and community services and an essential Campaign priority. Our plan calls for: • Spring enrollment added in 2014 to facilitate the ultimate goal of tripling enrollment • Expansion of the current facility and faculty to accommodate the growth of students • New state-of-the-art simulation technology for training • New computer workstations to prepare nurses for the national rollout of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) At the same time, we will continue to expand access to online degree programs for both RN to BSN and Master of Science in Nursing degrees, enabling working nurses to continue their service while gaining vital education in leadership and management, research and evidence-based practice, disease prevention/management and community nursing. Yet statistics only tell half the story. The people who work with and are healed by our nursing graduates provide an even more compelling one. Dean of the College of Nursing and Allied Health, Dr. Tara Hulsey, shares that it is widely recognized within the health care community that “...there is just something different about a nurse from Charleston Southern University. Our nurses offer a level of caring with compassion, patience, a sense of ministry and the gift of humanity that is a direct result of faith integration in our nursing education program.” Far more than one of the signature programs at Charleston Southern, the College of Nursing and Allied Health is a success story surpassed only by the success of our health care professional graduates who are Christian leaders delivering a uniquely compassionate and mindful brand of care to patients and families. For that reason, it is a Transform Campaign priority for which we seek $5,000,000.
