One reason the Institute of Art & Design at Robert Morris University is so exciting is the numerous opportunities to display work. Students from all Art & Design programs have the opportunity to show off their talents in various disciplines from the very beginning of their education. The Institute of Art & Design programs emphasize the experimental nature of design through project-based learning and through internship experiences with cultural institutions and businesses. The ability to communicate complex ideas in a variety of formats and mediums is a vital and necessary skill for a successful career. These skills are developed as students compile a comprehensive portfolio.

LETTER from the Dean

T

he faculty in the Institute of Art & Design are seasoned professionals who keep up with the changing marketplace and evolving design industry expectations. We are proud to offer Associate Degree programs in Interior Space Planning and Design, Computer Automated Drafting & Design, and Graphic Arts. Students can earn a Bachelor’s of Professional Studies Degree with a concentration in Architectural Technology or a Bachelor of Applied Science Degree in Graphic Design. As Dean, I know our faculty bring passion and experience to their work because they teach some of RMU’s most dedicated and directed students. Our philosophy in the Institute of Art & Design is simple: Bring the highest quality faculty together with students who are eager and motivated to learn, and amazing things can happen. As the Institute of Art & Design continues to build on its highquality programs, I look forward to seeing more students create the kinds of relationships with our faculty that make college such a memorable experience. RMU has been successful in helping students reach their goals both professionally and personally, and I know we can help you do the same.

Respectfully Yours,
