outinthe(ENCLOSED)OPEN. This structure’s inspiration came from the lush greenery surrounding Lake Scranton. The natural vegetation encloses much of the open area, including the track that circles the lake. The enclosure of this path creates the idea of being in an open environment yet at the same time feeling as if you are within a closed space. These moments vary throughout the lake, and are dependent on where much of the vegetation lies.

*The use of the clear tinted roof provides the idea of an open, yet enclosed space. The arches of fabricated steel wire relates to the canopy trees that veils the track. *Experimentation of movement within a space. Plans

Rear Elevation

The contrast between the track and the vegetation around the area provided as an inspiration for the dull color of the paved walk way and the rich vibrant color of the structure itself.
