Theater Logistics Support Center–Europe

Better known for years as the Kaiserslautern Army Depot, the massive logistics sustainment operation is at the core of the Army’s 21 st Theater Sustainment Command which is based in Kaiserslautern. Theater Logistics Support Center–Europe serves the requirements for maintenance and repair of vehicular equipment, including tracked and wheeled vehicles, as well as trailers and power generation technology. It supports the U.S. Army in Europe with transportation, distribution and ammunition services. Its logistics function is critical to successful operation of the sprawling mission of its military parent, the 21 st . The sustaining unit carries out the rebuilding of components such as engines and transmissions. It operates the general supply support for Army–Europe, Air Force–Europe and U.S. embassies in Europe. The TLSC-E also maintains a hazardous material storage facility. The TLSC-E employs 1700 persons in the Kaiserslautern area, and another 600 at satellite operations in Mannheim, Vilseck and other Army installations in Germany.
