Tracy Garza
Tracy Garza is currently cochair of the San Francisco Trans March, the largest trans pride organization of its kind in the world. Tracy is also a board member at Lyon-Martin Health Services, a queerfriendly clinic where almost a third of patients are transgender, and a member of the LGBT Advisory Committee of the San Francisco Human Rights Commission. More recently, she joined the staff of El/La Para TransLatinas, an organization that advocates for trans Latinas in the San Francisco Bay Area. Tracy is also a founding board member of Transgender Law Center and has maintained a continuous working relationship with the center since it was created eleven years ago. Tracy recently worked with a group of content creators to help launch Janet Mock’s memoir, Redefining Realness. Trystan Reese
Trystan Reese, senior organizer at the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, has been a part of city- and state-wide non-discrimination campaigns all over the country, working to ensure that trans voices are heard at every level. Centering the trans experience in short-term political campaigns is his passion, but he also works to invest in the long-term trans movement by supporting new organizers through leadership development programs. He was the architect of the Los Angeles Trans Leadership Academy, a structure that has been replicated across the country. Trystan regularly mentors up-and-coming trans leaders through the Task Force’s Summer Organizing fellowship, and acts as a peer mentor to countless trans and genderqueer organizers across the country. He believes in community without conditions, and his organization, Beyond These Walls, lives into that value by supporting LGBTQ prisoners in our nation’s jails and prisons.
