The project solves the urban integration in a private building for public uses - traditional bathhouse with relaxing areas, in a contemporary approach - in a metropolis for the XXI century, in a context of multiple uses and a complex area under transformation. Architecture Competition (urban intervention). Proposal by Joan Cané. - 2009. Architecture Competition RaconsPúblics09 FAD, Gracia District in Barcelona. Proposal 'newTOPOgreen' in Lesseps Square (authors: Joan Cané, Carla Rossich and Assaf Dori), finalist proposal. Published in different communication medias (newspapers, magazines, web pages, online book ...). Current situation: A dirty-wall in a corner of a square on the way to a tourist spot _ no green, no life, NOTHING. 'newTOPOgreen' proposal was looking for a coherent approach with a single gesture able to solve the wall by transforming all the square. A new green topography made by horizontal wood slats growing from the wall, with empty space for climbing plants that seem to grow from the garden on the other side of the wall, thus making a new place to take a rest ...
Architecture Competition (low-cost temporary exhibition). Proposal by Joan Cané. - 2008. Architecture Competition for a low-cost temporary exhibition (triennial Baix Llobregat COAC), selected proposal. Published in different communication medias. A temporary exhibition was designed with the use of steel frames to create cubic boxes for polycarbonate panels, making it possible to move it to different locations, with a low cost and the possibility to bring materials back to the construction process at the end of the exhibition.

Strategy schemas for the proposal DO BAMBO. Shadow studies each season.
DO BAMBOO was looking for a simple, cheap, sustainable, durable solution. Based on bamboo plants as a new vegetation creating a new atmosphere for the park, and creating huge pergolas to be hang from the housing blocks: to rhythm shadows for sunny days in Barcelona.
