To whom it may concern, My name is Jimmy Vuadens and I am currently attending Harbor High School with the graduating year of 2016. However, I spent all my scholarship in France in La Presentation de Marie, where I also graduated, in 2015. My goal is to join a computer science school in Switzerland next year. This multicultural background opened my mind and helped me to improve my graphic design skills. And Iâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;m ready to apply them to obtain a job in a creative work environment that challenges my abilities. In the course of my lasts years of high school, I have come to realize that I aroused a keen interest for certain classes. Among them figured computer science, physics and ROP graphic design. These are classes that I really enjoyed and, which helped me a lot in order to find my path in life. In addition, I worked a couple weeks in graphic design and computer security companies. I have also attended to an ROP biotechnology class. Those classes represent an important part of my education course since they taught a lot. For instance, computer science allowed me to get solid basis in terms of software and hardware. Also, physics taught me rigor and to organize my thoughts, whereas graphic design allowed me to free them and leave room for imagination and creativity. On the other hand, I had the chance to work a lot with professional softwares like the whole range of Adobe graphic design programs. Furthermore, I lived a unique experiment in my biotechnology class, where we learned how to work like employees in a company. On the following pages you will see my resume along with samples of my work and a list of references. I donâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t need to tell you more about me since the creations present in this portfolio are an open gate to my mind and my personality. I hope you will have a great time viewing it. 01 SAMPLE PROJECT POSTER REDESIGN

This project is called Poster Redesign assignment. In this project I had to choose one of the posters given and I had to redesign it with all the information provided for the poster. During this assignment, I learned how to create an informative poster and to manage my time because the time frame was quite short. Moreover this design was challenging because I had a lot of information to lay-out so it was really hard to keep some blank space. So, I tried to use different visual designs to lay-out all this information in order not to have too much writing. What I enjoyed was creating the main design of the poster, which is the car and the â&#x20AC;&#x153;roadâ&#x20AC;?. Moreover, I liked to choose the colors and I think they fit really nicely in my design.

02 SAMPLE PROJECT LOGO BOARD

The name of this project is Logo Board. My goal was to create some logos, in order to find the one that represents me the best. This assignment taught me how to make a whole range of different logos based on the same idea. I also learn how to lay out information in a small space and how to represents myself with symbols and letters. The challenge in this assignment was number of logos I had to create. It required a lot of inspiration, creativity and concentration. I really liked to create my own logo that I will be able to use in my future life.

FINAL LOGO BRAND BOARD

The name of the assignment was Final Logo Brand Board. In this project I had to choose one of the ten logos I had created before and I had to lay it out. During this whole assignment, I learned how to create a main logo and then to offer a variety of features to it. Moreover, I had to choose between ten logos I had created, so it taught me how to make a choice between different designs. This assignment wasnâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t really challenging, but I wanted a clear and light design with a lot of blank space. I enjoyed creating the range of different logos, but with the same design. And I really liked to lay out everything, especially the colored circles.

04 SAMPLE PROJECT DOUBLE EXPOSURE

This project is called Double Exposure. It is a creation in which I had to create a double exposure effect in Photoshop using a self-portrait provided in class. I learned a lot of useful skills during this assignment. It taught me how to blend layers together and to use Gaussian blur in order to create a really good-looking design. The challenge was present in this project because I had hard times selecting the edges of the lion because the hair was really thin but dense at the same time. Eventually, I solved this problem using the mountain picture and the transparency in order to create a â&#x20AC;&#x153;fake maneâ&#x20AC;?, which was blended with the real lion mane. Creating this design was really enjoyable because I really like lions, and I used one of my favorite color schemes. Moreover, I learned a new skill, which can create really nice designs.

SOCIAL CAUSE POSTER

Social Cause Poster is the name of my last project. The purpose was to design a poster for a cause that is important to me. This assignment was really helpful since I learned how to draw characters with illustrator, and the symbols of the most present religions in the world. However, the design of the explosion was the main challenge in this poster. I didnâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t want it to be too apparent because I wanted to put the focus on the different religions. Moreover, it was hard to find a good position for the characters thrown by the explosion because it is not a 3D poster. This is one of my favorite projects, not for the design, but for the message that emerged from it. To conclude, I learned about religions and this poster was important to me in order to support the French people after the attacks in their country.
