“How God created Teachers.” Grade XII– Cheering the teachers with their performance.

TEACHER’S DAY SPECIAL ASSEMBLY

A creative drama presented on the Teacher’s Day was written by Vincent Gerard Puyat (Class XII Science) and enacted by the students of class XII. It went on to narrate the

story of “How God created a teacher”, before and after sending her down to Earth. Melissa Rangel, XII-Science

Forthcoming events in December: Grade XI

Teacher’s Day skit The raconteur (Aamir Sabuwala), an “angel” , introduced us all to Heaven where God(Keith Denzil Cardoza) was seen conversing with his right-hand angel (Alia Busheri) while the “Teacher” (Melissa Rangel) remained lifeless. Debating

whether the “Teacher” had all the essentials incorporated into her, God then decided to “test” her in two different “simulation” classes in Heaven’s “factory”, where she interacted with angels (Joel Andrade, Laila Juma and Prisca Fernandes) pos-

bidding Farewell to

sessing “still” and “active” personalities.

Grade XIIBatch 2011-12

A while later, God had his creation sent down to Earth accompanied by Heaven’s naughty Angel(Joel Andrade). continued Things did not go as planned

Teacher’s Day skit-contd. Things did not go as planned however, and our poor teacher , abandoned by her escort, soon encountered three students (Darren D’silva, Aziz Rangoonwala, Adler Lobo) whose outlook on “school” and “teachers” was not one of the best.

Through a song , she managed to change that, realizing for herself how dynamic, different and curious , life on Earth is. The plot ends, with God’s creation, the “teacher” on her way to “the place that needs her the most” (or “Destiny”)…

This is Thank You… It’s not just gifts and flowers, that can repay all those hours. You spent, teaching me, educating me, making me see, when I couldn’t believe… and when I was down, it didn’t take long, to take my hand and to make me strong… This is Thank You for being there for me, for showing me just who I could be; taking my hand , and leading the way, to the end of a rough day, This is Thank You…

A Poem dedicated to our teachers! Without them every school is incomplete, They warn the students not to cheat, Making sure that the classrooms are kept neat, They keep us ever so close, Of moral values they ensure our daily dose, Encourage us when we perform well, Sometimes give us a 'wee' break before the bell, Some teach Physics or Chemistry, Some Maths and others History, With every situation they can deal, Always teach with full zest and zeal, We speak to them when we are sad, They change our mood to good from bad, Strive to amend all our drawbacks, Show us the direction our intuition lacks, By now I'm sure you all have guessed, To the vast extent, how we're blessed, To have such wonderful people in our lives, Who fulfill the responsibility of being our guides. Teachers are special to one and all, Because of them we stand tall, So look at your teachers and give them a smile, And a big thank you for helping us go the miles! By-Laila Allaudin - XII Science

Grade XII students experiencing the outside world!

Jason played an instrumental piece of music, followed by the Kuwait Anthem which we all sang together. To our Principal, Vice-Principal, teachers and the nurse we would like to express our hearfelt gratitude for having given us this opportunity.-XII SC & XII COM.

SPOTLIGHT OF THE MONTH MANAGEMENT: Our spotlight of the month is our former Director Fr. Tony who though miles away is still like a member of the IEAS family. A great director, advisor, friend and counselor. Well, words are not enough to express all that he has done for the school. But the word, that quickly comes to our mind to describe him is com-

passion. If any staff member or student had an issue, they could easily knock on the cabin door of Fr. Tony, and he would always welcome the person in. There hardly must be anyone, whose request, Fr. Tony had not granted. We can a learn a lot from him as he left his mark as a man who had a vision, passion, compassion and

faith in God, his staff, students and himself. STUDENT : ELRICH MIRANDA(VII A) Winner of Derek O’ Brien Quiz Contest (along with Ryan Thomas), ranked in the top ten list of the Cap-Q test and stood 3rd in the Inter-School Choral Recitation (along with his teammates).

7th INTER-SCHOOL CHORAL RECITATION On 25th November 2011, IEAS participated in the 7th Inter-School Choral Recitation held by the Don Bosco Past Pupils Association. There were two groups: Intermediate and Seniors. The venue, like every year, was the IEAS quadrangle. The event began at 2.30 pm and went on till 6.30

IEAS TEACHERS CHILLING OUT AT EGAILA BEACH

The IEAS school staff went for a staff picnic to Egaila Beach on 24th November 2011. The journey began with singing in the bus and pictures being clicked of the IEAS staff in full swing. The spot was

excellent and all loved the place with its amenities and IEAS staff beauty as it helped in action! everyone to relax and cool off. The place was quite empty except for a few family members who were fishing around. It did not take long to get started and especially with the sports teachers having organized games one after the other, one could hardly sit back and watch. The staff

members were divided into teams and there was dancing, singing, running, hopping, acting, housie and to top it all-feasting! Thanks to Spineys who kept us going with their delicious items. The winning members were also awarded with gifts. A big thanks to our management who made this happen despite their busy schedules and gave us a wonderful break .

CHILDREN’S DAY AND EID ASSEMBLY On 17th November 2011, the IEAS staff and students came together and put up a great show as they celebrated the Children’s Day and Eid. The Id programme was put together by the students of grade X. The latter part of the programme was put up by the management and staff of IEAS exclusively for the kids of IEAS. It was marvelous to see the management and

staff of IEAS in a totally different form, as they danced, sang and acted in different roles emphasizing the fact that they too had a passion for dance, music and drama just like the kids. The Pre-Primary staff put up a foot-tapping Spanish dance, while the Primary put up a Hindi dance and the Secondary sang a couple of wonderful songs purely to the students’ delight. The stu-

dents also enjoyed the skit presented by the management, primary and secondary teachers. Hats off to our dear Principal Fr. Lionel Braganza who was a sensation in the dance and skit and made the Children’s day memorable.
