REMEMBER YOUR “WHY” Your purpose is your why. “Don’t let a day go by that you aren’t focused on the reason you do what you do.” Rick Isaacson

Deborah Day As we have often stated in our Distributorship meetings, your objectives, short-term business and professional goals must align with the long-term goals and objectives, which must align with your personal goals in your life. Most of our associate franchise owners identify long-term personal goals as financial security; living a healthy, happy life; providing for their family, including educational opportunities, inner peace and contentment. We have witnessed franchises struggling with the daily grind and urgencies in business, experiencing business burn out, stagnation, and even decline in structure, revenue and profit, all due to the lack of focus on the ultimate goal: what the business is designed to accomplish for you, to achieve your desired results. Every person faces minor and major challenges affecting personal, family, and professional life. Personal challenges might involve finances; family dynamics; physical or mental health. In our business life, challenges range from cash flow problems, lack of profitability, loss of key personnel, and production quality, customer service issues, tax liabilities, or loss of valuable clients. Positively or negatively, the consequences of these challenges depend upon how we deal with them. Do you think through your challenges and then act upon each responsibly and morally? Alternatively, do you perhaps inappropriately react, instead? Do your actions bring you competently closer or frustratingly further from your End Goals? It is worth remembering the End Goals for each aspect of your life, business or personal are determined by appropriate planning, implementing, and when necessary, corrective actions. End Goals are achieved by living your core values and your core values determine how you act and react to any given circumstance Remembering your WHY – your purpose, is a driving force, which determines your commitment to face your challenges and achieve your End Goals. Remembering your WHY – your driving force and purpose provides clarification in determining your dedication level and your desire to succeed - the reason WHY you work through life’s personal and business challenges. Your values define who and what you aspire to become. Define them with care!

To Mark & Mary Zegarelli, SERVPRO® of Jefferson County, for Helping Vernon Phillips and Bonnie Roberts Vernon Phillips and Bonnie Roberts, the couple known as Mr. and Mrs. Claus here in the north country, are used to doing everything they can to help others this time of year. When they lost their home to a fire last week, they needed someone to return the favor. That someone ended up being SERVPRO, a company that does fire and water damage repair. “After the years of them giving to our families and being there for the kids, I felt it was time to do something to help them out,” said Mary Zegarelli, co-owner of SERVPRO of Jefferson County. Mr. and Mrs. Claus Actors get a helping hand Zegarelli told Vernon and Bonnie to bring in whatever they could from their home.

after a fire.

“We didn’t think that they were going to be able to be saved at all, but she says, ‘Bring ‘em because we can work miracles,’ and I’ll tell you, some of this stuff looks almost new,” said Bonnie. “We literally hand wash everything. We have special product that we use to do it with. We get down to using Q-tips, toothbrushes, nooks and crannies to do what we can,” said Zegarelli. Many cherished items and pictures have been restored thanks to the generosity of those at SERVPRO and their volunteers. With still more items to be restored, they’re hoping more volunteers will pitch in to help.

Forever Factors Rick Isaacson A personal message… ©

COMMITTED to Learning and Living God’s Way

I Thessalonians 5:6 “Don’t Sleepwalk” “So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be alert and self-controlled.” The human life provides amazing freedom to those living in America. Each person has the freewill to spend their days sleepwalking through their life, collecting government existence or half-heartedly slogging through another day at work. On the other hand, each person has the same freedom to define a purpose for their life and to focus on living life God’s way, with passion and commitment to put their whole heart into their work. As a leader, it is your responsibility to define your vision and purpose in life. It is your choice to envision that “end in mind” that will allow you to glorify God and make a difference in a way that exposes others to the possibilities that God is real and can make a difference in their lives. You know as a leader, it is easy to lose focus on doing the right thing. If you’re not alert and self-controlled, it’s easy to fall into the trap of sleepwalking through life, taking it easy and letting day after day fade away. Stay alert to your goals. Stay alert to the word of God and its meaning in your life. Don’t let a day go by that you aren’t focused on the reason you do what you do. That doesn’t mean you don’t take days to refresh and rest. (There’s a reason God taught us to rest on the seventh day.) But when you’re at work, model the leadership and focus that people will notice. Go the extra mile! Be alert to the fact that everyone watches how you work and what you prioritize each day. Be alert that your example is vital to the team! Don’t sleep walk, lead by example!
