The Story

The story takes places in Callao,Perú. And it is about professor Calculus' disappearance. Tintin is with Snowy and Captain Haddock and they suspect professor has been kidnapped on a boat called “Pachacamac” (an Inca ship). From the beginning, Tintin felt a presence was following them.

The ship got off in Callao, and at night Tintin slipped into the boat. He saw professor drugged in a cabin with a gold bracelet and Incas discovered Tintin. But he could escape.

The next day Tintin and Captain Haddock started to ask Indian people about professor. Everyone answered: “No sé.”

Tintin was looking for clues when he saw an inca child who was being attacked by two men. Tintin went and help the child.

A few moments later, Tintin heard a strange voice who told him to go to the Bridge of Inca the following day. Later, Tintin met the man who followed them and gave him a Talisman.

On the next day, Tintin, Snowy and Captain walked to The Bridge of Inca. The inca child was there. He was the strange voice he heard. His name was Zorrino. Zorrino told them professor was in the Temple of Sun. He would take them to the temple.

It was a very long way. They walked through the mountains, through the jungle until they came to a waterfall. In the waterfall Tintin discovered a secret way leading to the Temple of sun. They took it and went into the temple by accident.

Incas saw them. They were very angry and imprisoned them.

Zorrino was very scared and Tintin gave him the talisman the man gave him. The incas took the prisoners to the prince who sentenced them to death, but Zorrino showed the talisman to the prince. At first, the prince believed he stole the talisman but the priest appeared.

The priest was the man who followed them. He explained that he gave this talisman to Tintin, and asked not to kill them. He said they were good people. The prince only saved Zorrino's life. Tintin and Captain were still sentenced to death but the prince let them choose the day they wanted to die. Captain and Tintin were taken to jail but Tintin found a newspaper and had an idea. He asked the prince the day of execution would be within 18 days.

After 18 days,

everything was ready for their execution.

Suddenly, Tintin started to pray to the sun and there was an eclipse. The prince supplication to Tintin made the sun shine again. Tintin sang again and the eclipse was over.

This happened because Tintin read on the newspaper that day there would be an eclipse and he thought about tricking the Incas. Incas thought the sun was a god. The prince forgave them and gave them a lot of money and gold.
