Letter from the Editor: Esteemed reader,

After the incredible response I’ve received, both before and after I started do this magazine again, this August issue has been special. I enjoy writing, even more so when I’m writing about projects and people who I believe in. I believe in journalistic integrity and in so keep a standard of journalistic ethics. I keep a copy of the guidelines for journalistic ethics from the Society for Professional Journalists on my phone, on my computer and a physical copy on my wall. In so I have adopted the tagline “Ethical journalism in a Hollywood reporter world” and will update my mission statement to reflect my commitment to journalistic ethics. With all that being said, I dedicate Entertainment Mayhem, altDarkness and Reviews & Interviews to everyone how has shown me continued support. I have to give a thank you to the woman on the cover Tracey Birdsall. She reached out to me and offered me a great opportunity to have her on the cover. Having seen her in many different roles throughout the past few years it was an honor, having a slight idea where this magazine was headed I was shocked. But above all, I was brought to tears by having someone I admired, but was pretty sure had no idea I existed, want to be a part of this endeavor and so I am forever thankful. It’s a cliché to say, but many quote that “you should never meet your idols,” but working with Birdsall to get this issue done, the way she answered her questions and the kindness she’s show throughout has made this one of the, if not the most, enjoyable time making an issue. The cover is beautiful, the story is one I’m extremely proud of and her constant support nothing short of extraordinary, Birdsall and I hope the readers enjoy the reveal. I’ve had so much fun getting to know Birdsall slightly and hope to collaborate with her more in the future. Enjoy the main story. For Beauty of Words I want to thank once again Ms. Savannah Eve who has helped so much and who writes such wonderful words that keep improving day after day. If I could animate anything as wonderful as the wonders she writes I would, but for now I will do my best to add some adequate layouts. This issue has a story on depression and anxiety because more and more there are stories about how bad it gets when the signs become undeniable and can no longer be ignored. Lets talk about the signs which are the hardest to pick up on. When people pull away from society, refuse to go out and refuse to talk. Many times its not becasue they don’t want to but rather because their mental illness prevents them from talking about it. It’s a serious issue when it becomes painful to go through it as it is to talk about it. Always choose to be kind and lets stop ignoring the problem until its too late. Parents need to be aware, but so do teachers, friends, siblings, bosses and co-workers. This is a problem that affects the whole community and any help provided can possibly save a life. Please enjoy this issue and let me know what you think through comments and social media (@Thisfunktional).

Much Appreciation,

Jesus Figueroa

LA LEYENDA DEL CHARRO NEGRO coming home on digital and on demand Jesus Figueroa Writer

#NoahScores Contributor

#NoahScores enjoys each one of the first four installments of the Leyenda series because they are entertaining enough with a bit of suspense and scary for kids to enjoy without nightmares and now he’s excited for “La Leyenda del Charro Negro.” The fifth installment of the Leyendas series, Lionsgate’s animated thiller-comedy “La Leyenda del Charro Negro” arrives on digital and On Demand August 28. This series takes well known legends from Mexico and presents them in a way that kids can learn from the legends without being scared by the gruesomeness of

some of the tales. Some of the tales come from the darker side of Mexican folklore. The film tells the story of Leo who must enlist the aid of his friends after being fooled by the Charro Negro, resulting in a girl being cast into the underworld. Netflix’s “Legend Quest” is based on the characters in this series and follows a similar pace, but includes more characters. The newest animated movie is directed by Alberto “Chino” Rodriguez, “La Leyenda del Charro Negro” will be available on Digital in both HD and SD for the retail price of $7.99. The legend comes from a well know legend of a tall man in a black suit and wide-brimmed hat riding a black horse through central and southern Mexican States making conversation with men and seducing women.

The Charro Negro is said to be the devil because he offers men stacks of money. Those who accept end up with misfortune, as punishment for their greed. Women who are seduced onto his hours find themselves unable to dismount and disappear. Much like the song “Devil went down to Georgia,” the Charro Negro’s alluring offers can come with a steep price to pay. As the animated film is made for a younger audience, the story is changed a bit from the legend that has been passed down. The film’s story is focused on the “Charro Negro” historic figure, but also references story elements from the past installments in the Leyenda series. This movie picks up from the events of Chupacabras, as Leo and his brother Nando are returning home to Puebla.

Along the way, Leo encounters the Charro Negro who confuses him, resulting in a girl being cast into the underworld. To fix his mistakes, he enlists the help of his friends. “La Leyenda del Charro Negro” is sure to not take such a dark turn as the legend can take, but is set to be full of excitement for children and adults alike. Mayté Cordeiro from “La Leyenda del Chupacabras” and “La Leyenda de la Nahuala” and Andrés Couturier from “La Leyenda de la Llorona” return for “La Leyenda del Charro Negro.” Erick Elias (“Compadres,” TV’s “El Color de la Pasion”) joins the voice cast. The film is in Spanish with English subtitles with a run time of 84 minutes. “La Leyenda del Charro Negro” arriving on digital and On Demand August 28.

JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KIN franchise to a new height, gets Jesus Figueroa Writer

The newest installment to the Jurassic franchise from Universal Pictures comes “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom,” on digital and via the digital movie app MOVIES ANYWHERE on September 4 as well as on 4K Ultra HD, 3D Blu-rayTM, Blu-rayTM, DVD and On Demand on September 18. This new part to the franchise raises the bar for the franchise bringing together a stellar cast and crew to move the story arc in a new direction. The film captivates audiences of all ages with a new chapter filled and more dinosaurs than any other Jurassic film to date. Chris Pratt (Jurassic World, Guardians of the Galaxy franchise) and Bryce Dallas Howard (Jurassic World, Pete’s Dragon) return as Owen Grady and Claire Dearing with original cast members Jeff Goldblum (Jurassic Park, Thor: Ragnarok) and BD Wong (Jurassic World, “Law and Order: SVU”) reprising their iconic roles. In “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom,” Owen (Pratt) and Claire (Howard) return to Isla Nublar three years after the destruction of the Jurassic World theme park to rescue any remaining dinosaurs on the island from a catastrophic volcano that threatens to leave dinosaurs extinct once again. Owen is driven to save his lead raptor, Blue, while Claire makes it her mission to preserve the creatures that she has grown to deeply respect. When the lava begins to rain down, they soon discover terrifying new breeds of ferocious dinosaurs along with a conspiracy that could threaten the entire world. Joined by co-stars James Cromwell (Babe, The Green Mile) as wealthy entrepreneur Benjamin Lockwood, Dr. John Hammond’s partner in creating Jurassic Park, as well as Justice Smith (The Get Down) and Daniella Pineda (The Detour) as Franklin Webb and Zia Rodriguez, members of Claire’s Dinosaur Protection Group; this brilliant cast brings an extraordinary story to life as chaos erupts when Owen, Claire, and their team discover a most

deadly endgame that could bring the planet back to prehistoric times. Pratt and Howard lead the cast and captivate with stunning performances which are only surpassed by the massive dinosaurs that surround them through the majority of the thrilling scene. Aside from the leads’ performances, the story twists are the next satisfying aspect of the film. The story progresses well and with a calm pace that helps the audience keep track of the new dinosaurs introduced. The dinosaurs get more of a human quality which helps the audiences feel more connected to the creatures and the fate they are to ultimately end up having, which makes the ending to this movie that much more satisfying and acceptable as a logical response to the actions which needed to be taken. “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” will be available on 4K Ultra HD in a combo pack which includes 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, Blu-ray and digital. The 4K Ultra HD disc will include the same bonus features as the Blu-ray version, all in stunning 4K resolution. “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom,” from Amblin Entertainment and Universal Pictures, held the No. 1 spot for four straight weeks at the international box office, and topped the North American box office for two weeks is a worldwide hit, earning over $1 billion in global ticket sales. The Jurassic franchise is now one of the top grossing franchises of all-time grossing over $4.7 billion at the box office. “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” is directed by J.A. Bayona (The Impossible, The Orphanage) and executive-produced by Jurassic titans Steven Spielberg and Colin Trevorrow. “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” wil be available on digital September 4, 4K Ultra HD, 3D Blu-Ray, Bluray and DVD September 18 from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment. The all-new five-Movie Collection is available on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD on September 18.

LAFC’s MLS debut season b

Jesus Figueroa Writer

The United States’ Major League Soccer is just beyond the first half of the season and the Los Angeles Football Club have gained a following and surprised the MLS with great standings in the west. The team is led by captain Laurent Cimon, number 23, leading from the backfield as a defender. LAFC’s first drafted player in team history Carlos Vela, number 10, in the front as a forward who aside from being a scorer is also a creator. The new Banc of California Stadium in downtown Los Angeles, on Figueroa, gets loud as fans fill the stadium every home game. Forward Diego Rossi, number 9, scored LAFC’s first goal as part of the MLS. Slowly the team has been coming together as they recruit more and more talent. Defender Danilo Silva, number 6, on loan from Internacional joined the LAFC backfield just before the midway point. Silva provides much needed defense to the LAFC backfield. To ad to the scoring power of the club, forward Christiano Ramirez joined the club, making his debut on August 11 against Sporting Kansas City, in a home game LAFC lost 2-0. Midfielder Martk-Anthony Kaye, number 14, suffered a fractured left ankle which needed to have surgery and has taken him out for at least six months,

which means he will be out for the rest of the season. Goalkeeper Tyler Austin Miller, number 1, was selected number 1 overall in the 2017 expansion draft coming to LAFC from Seattle Sounders FC and has played in 22 games. Goalkeeper Luis López, number 22, comes to LAFC from Honduras, where he played for the past 5 years. He also played in two games for the Honduras National Team in two qualifying games for the 2018 World Cup. Midfielder Lee Nguyen, number 24, traded from New England Revolution on a deadline-day trade and provides aggressive midfield play even when it cost Nguyen a yellow card. Forward Adama Diomande, number 99, played for manager Bob Bradley before when they both were at Stabaek. Diomande has been effective in scoring and an aggressive forward. Forward Diego Rossi, number 9, has been a fantastic attacker and has helped in making LAFC average about 2 goals a game. These players are fantastic on the field and continue to play better together. The communications between the players has become one of the aspects of the team that work well, but even with that, closing a game has been difficut. Keeping a lead has been something that LAFC has struggled both in home games and away games. Even with some troubles, LAFC managed to play in the Lamar Hunt Open Cup semi-finals losing in penalty shoutouts.

The passion of an artist drives Katie Cole Jesus Figueroa Writer

Artist Katie Cole takes risks to satisfy her ambition to be more than a musician while being a true artist. Cole comes from a family which has a musical history, so its no wonder she started teaching herself how to play different instruments and gained a respect for music since a young age.. Cole said that although she does hope her family enjoy her music, she doesn’t write anything just to satisfy them and maybe that why her style is more of a country-pop-rock sound. “Time on my hands,” the newer single of Cole’s upcoming EP “Things that break, Part 1” shows an acoustic side which listeners will get hooked on. But, Cole said it’s reflective of the album in the sense that it showcases just what she can do, but the album is unique. As an artist she is able to play multiple instruments, having started off with the piano and eventually winding up on the guitar which she feels more comfortable now. While she is a solo artist, she has spent three entire tours with the Smashing Pumpkins and is happy to do

whatever is asked of while on tour – be it guitar, bass, keys or sing. While we await the release of “Things that break, Part 1” on September 28, Cole is currently on tour with the Smashing Pumpkins. Cole said that she was inspired by the Smashing Pumpkins when she was growing up in Australia, but right now as she tours with them she is happy to have any experience she can. Tour life can be quite straining, especially when balancing tour duties with solo project duties and promoting an new single and EP. Always being busy and multitasking is something most artist know too well and Cole seems to be doing so much of that. Cole said she is bad at listening to new music since she needs to listen to music on good speakers or headphones and really experience the music as she listens. At the moments, Cole said she is enjoying the music by Bishop Briggs as the powerful vocalist is a fantastic rising talented. Look out for Katie Cole’s EP “Things that break, part 1,” out September 28, and look for katie playing keys with the Smashing Pumpkins on tour now.

Exclusive News

Tracey Birdsall fights through the bumps and bruises of being a Sci-Fi action star “I like the risks to be high (whether it’s physical or emotional), and I like multidimensional people - to live the lives of people with layers and layers. Those are dream roles. Give me a role that other actors cannot or will not live because it’s too hard, too complicated or takes too big of a toll…and that’s the one I want to do.” -Tracey Birdsall Jesus Figueroa Writer

Getting an opportunity to delve deeper into her character Sienna, Tracey Birdsall puts all her passion and skill into “AGE OF DARKNESS: EVOLUTION WAR” and pushes her self even further as an actress. Exclusively revealing that Evolution War will be a series, Birdsall looks forward to learning much more about her character Sienna and to be get to see the path Sienna takes after “Rogue Warrior.” “Well, this is actually the first place that we are going to announce this, ‘Age of Darkness: Evolution War’ (working title Evolution War) is actually going to be a series,” Birdsall said. “Since I’ve been with this story idea from the beginning of Rogue Warrior, how could I not want to be a part of it? The stakes are much higher, the action is off the charts, and the characters have such depth… it’s exactly the type of

project I yearn for.” Although not a direct sequel to “Rogue Warrior,” Age of Darkness: Evolution War” is set in the same universe as “Rogue Warrior” sometime in the future. Since Birdsall seeks out roles that challenge her and she has developed a fantastic professional relationship with director Neil Johnson, she enjoys being able to trust that the role he presents her with will be a good fit for her and challenge her. “Everything Neil Johnson (Director) does, pushes my skills to a whole new level - it’s in his nature to constantly expect more, and it’s in my nature to have to deliver - it’s what I thrive on,” Birdsall said. “The beauty of constantly pushing myself emotionally and physically within this realm is that I continue to be capable of more - and the ante simply gets upped again. It’s a beautiful thing.” The brilliance of the relationship Birdsall and Johnson developed is that its mutually beneficial.

At the end of the projects, the viewers get a set of movies with progress and see characters grow as the filmmakers grow. Birdsall said that these demanding roles have helped her get a good reputation and be looked at as a complex actress. “I’ve been oftentimes compared to a turtle seemingly tough exterior but super soft and vulnerable on the inside. I do believe that combination makes for good strong characters, as there’s depth and vulnerability within an otherwise strong character - which is very human,” Birdsall said. “I can adjust for the character and personality and be strong, whilst falling apart emotionally on the inside - which is tough for many actors to do transparently - and this can be quite painful.” Birdsall not only portrays her characters but feels that she steps into their shoes and becomes them for the duration of the shoot.

As an actress, Birdsall gives the best performances she can by telling her truth of the character she’s having to play, which often times takes a toll on her. “I’m also very in tune with feeling emotions from the chosen perspective and just living it as it unfolds.” Birdsall said. “When I hear the word ‘action’ it’s very much like hearing the distant murmur of my trainer during a particularly tough workout. I tune out of my body’s natural inclinations to stop during duress and action until I hear the word ‘cut,’ (which) sometimes I don’t hear it the first time during strenuous action scenes.” Coming back to the role of Sienna wasn’t a hard decision for Birdsall. Birdsall saw the opportunity to work with Johnson again, which to her meant working with a director she’s comfortable with and being able to expand her skills as an actress, but at the same time she found herself curious as to where her character ended up

after “Rogue Warrior.” “The main thing I heard after the ‘Rogue Warrior’ Premiere was ‘I want to see what happens next,’ and I have to admit that I didn’t feel quite complete in her journey yet. I, too, wanted to experience what was next, as I felt we had nicely laid out the universe and the characters,” Birdsall said. “It’s amazing how it’s developed into a series and that the characters — old and new — are allowed space to expand and explore. So it’s not a sequel, but it is what comes in the future for them. I can say that many of the turning points in the scripts even had me quite aghast when I read them.” It’s easy to see that Birdsall has become enamored her role of Sienna, and a fan as well. Although roles before have challenged her, Birdsall believes that, this time around, Sienna really challenged her physically. “It’s really hard to state which projects had the most action work, as I have a ton of work in post-production and it’s hard to remember,” Birdsall said. “Most likely, the upcoming ‘Age of Darkness: Evolution War’ series was the most physically challenging.” Each Sci-Fi project has been physically demanding and Birdsall steps up to the challenge each time. More training and more working out helps to prepare for stunts and prevent injuries from being major. Birdsall is not one to shy away from stunt work, even if there is risks of injuries. “All of the sci-fi projects I’ve worked on have stunt work, and all of it I’ve done myself, it’s actually one of my favorite parts of these projects. I’m not only comfortable with it, but I plan and train for it,” Birdsall said. “That doesn’t mean things don’t go wrong and you don’t get injured. I do, but I do my best to be prepared and confident. Although I’ve had lots of injuries, I’ve never had one that stopped work. So, that’s a huge accomplishment in my mind, take note insurance companies.” Even with the enjoyment of the physical challenges that roles in Sci-Fi bring Birdsall, it’s not always about challenging herself physically.

Birdsall’s role as Sienna has been evolving and growing. The role gives Birdsall the opportunity to reach new grounds as an actress. “The more complicated, deviated, in-depth, confused and complicated the better as far as a character I would like to play. I like to get into the mind of another self-created and guided character and just live it,” Birdsall said. “Action films are at the top of my list, as there’s nothing better, although I would love to do wires. I like the risks to be high — whether it’s physical or emotional — and I like multi-dimensional people, to live the lives of people with layers and layers. Those are dream roles. Give me a role that other actors cannot or will not live because it’s too hard, too complicated, or takes too big of a toll, and that’s the one I want to do.” Sci-Fi thrillers are a comfortable genre for Birdsall because they keep her intrigued. There are many fans of Sci-Fi and Birdsall, aside from enjoying the challenge of acting in them, seems to be fan as well. Sci-Fi gives a glimpse into a fantasy world that is loosely grounded in the realm of science. “I can’t even imagine why anyone wouldn’t be interested continually in Sci-Fi. What drew me to it as a small child, besides it being the most brilliant visual genre, was the imagination, creativity, excitement, and the blending of science and wonder of what could be in the future,” Birdsall said. Birdsall likes stepping into the lives of each of her characters to be able to give the best and most truthful performance. Sci-Fi can be one of the most difficult genres for actors because, many times, scenes require a big a imagination. It’s not just acting upon something that’s known, but often times actors have to believe in something that is theorized about. It may be the most difficult genre for actors and directors to get right. “I live the lives of my characters and I put alot of

effort into birthing them as individuals, so all the effort is in the prep — design stage I like to call it,” Birdsall said. “When shooting a film, comedy is probably the easiest because it’s often not as far off psychologically, and the physical demands are within reason. Comedy is like a dance and a joy to do with great actors. It’s like a vacation from Sci-Fi, like I would ever need one.” In between seeing Birdsall battle in Sci-Fi roles, she stared in comedy “Who’s Jenna...?” The comedy had Birdsall in a role which isn’t something that Sci-Fi movies have her do. “Who’s Jenna...?” tells and interesting story which brought a much different challenge to Birdsall. “It was an interesting decision (to take the role in ‘Who’s Jenna?’) as it would only be the third time that I was a female lead in a film, where so much of her life was ‘about’ being a female, something I don’t lead my life focusing on,” Birdsall said. “So I had to embrace more of my feminine side, think through how most women would feel in her situations and live the role as a stereotypical female. Which is quite difficult for me.” Still, the variety of roles and the ability to adapt into a character’s personality has made Birdsall an asset to every project she’s been in. The hard work and dedication she has put in has kept her busy, which is much deserved. “I think it’s been about five years since I’ve taken a break and I do believe a short break is in store for me soon. It’s a bit of an addiction when you do what you love as a new project that’s appealing comes across your desk and next thing you know it’s all that you’re obsessing over and working on,” Birdsall said. “After that there’s press, and interviews, and in the meantime another comes by, and then the release. It’s a vicious yet amazing cycle and roller coaster that you just don’t dare step off of.” Growing up with an interest in robotics and computer science, as well as enjoying Sci-Fi, everything lead Birdsall’s life down the path she has gone. There’s nothing that caught her interest like acting. From having a passion for fitness to getting her imagination and her creativity going, Birdsall cannot see herself in anyother career path. “I believe, somehow, every experience (including watching Star Wars before it’s release at my neighbors) leads us to what we are to become and uniquely be. It’s the conglomerate whole that as a result has impressed on my career.” It hasn’t been straight forward with her career, as

everything there are ups and down and Birdsall has had to endure through it all and enjoy the success when she’s able to. Birdsall sees her life much like the story arc of one of a character. “It’s a bit like watching a movie itself, this life thing. I can see where every little thing fed into my passions and fears and resulted in where I am today,” Birdsall said. “It’s really quite amazing when you think about it.” Heading out to red carpets isn’t a random thing for Birdsall either, it is to show support for the projects she is really passionate about. At one point Birdsall was an actress who needed to have a team to get her comfortable enough to be red carpet ready, but now she is more comfortable to do it all herself., with a little help from her favorite designer

who provides what she wears. “My favorite designer to work with, Lavanya Coodly, oftentimes has options to wear for me months in advance, and it all falls into place from there,” Birdsall said. To stay fit for roles and red crpets, Birdsall keeps a mostly vegetarian diet and equally has a strict workout schedule. Working out doesnt just help with her fit, Birdsall said she also uses it to keep her sanity. “I believe it’s all a delicate but predictable balance: food is fuel, more output more input, and stay away from sugar.,” Birdsall said. “I believe sugar is one of the very worst things you can put in your body, long term. I mean, we all love the way it tastes, but it wreaks havoc on your cells and makes you toxic and fat.” As every job, acting is a constant every day job.

It has it’s glamorous side, but it has its tough times and hard days. But, there are moments when the job becomes exactly what actors want them to be. For Birdsall, she hopes to one day work with the directors she most admires. “There’s so many I can think of: David Lynch, Quentin Tarantino, Ridley Scott, Peter Jackson, Paul Thomas Anderson (There Will Be Blood is a masterpiece favorite), Guillermo del Toro, Robert Zemeckis, The Coen Brothers, Tim Burton, James Cameron, Martin Scorsese, Ron Howard, Wes Anderson, Darren Aronofsky and lately Edgar Wright,” Birdsall said. Birdsall enjoys working with different and actors and said, “My favorite actor I would love to work with is Daniel Day Lewis, but I do believe he’s a shoe cobbler for a while.”

“It’s a bit like watching a movie itself, this life thing. I can see where every little thing fed into my passions and fears and resulted in where I am today. It’s really quite amazing when you think about it.” -Tracey Birdsall

It should be a fun watch for everyone due to the friend and family aspects of the show. With so much in store for the new FOX TV line-up, theres something for people to enjoy. A new comedy, a comedy that had success on a different network, two new dramas and a returning drama which was a fan favorite from last year. k about what lies underneath Depression: Signs and Symptoms •

• • • • • • • • • • • • •

If you have been experiencing some of the following signs and symptoms most of the day, nearly every day, for at least two weeks, you may be suffering from depression: Persistent sad, anxious, or “empty” mood Feelings of hopelessness, or pessimism Irritability Feelings of guilt, worthlessness, or helplessness Loss of interest or pleasure in hobbies and activities Decreased energy or fatigue Moving or talking more slowly Feeling restless or having trouble sitting still Difficulty concentrating, remembering, or making decisions Difficulty sleeping, early-morning awakening, or oversleeping Appetite and/or weight changes Thoughts of death or suicide, or suicide attempts Aches or pains, headaches, cramps, or digestive problems without a clear physical cause and/or that do not ease even with treatment Shifts in personality are usually indicators of mental health issues, although they may be dismissed for many other reasons. The quicker the mood change the more likely that there is a mental health issue. Self-preservation becomes something that can be most affected as well as sleeping patterns — which can become long periods of sleeping or short periods to no sleeping. There’s many more aspects to anxiety and depression than those listed on any website. Dismissing the non life-threatening signs because they aren’t major can be the biggest problem. As much as people who suffer from depression and anxiety can show symptoms, anxiety and depression can be symptoms of a bigger issue in people’s lives. Those who do not suffer from either depression or anxiety, while being fortunate, have the most difficult time empathizing with anyone who may be suffering. For many it’s something easy that can be surpassed by just ignoring it. Anxiety and depression can be difficult to discuss

Generalized anxiety disorder symptoms include: • • • • • • • •

Restlessness or feeling wound-up or on edge Being easily fatigued Difficulty concentrating or having their minds go blank Irritability Muscle tension Difficulty controlling the worry Sleep problems (difficulty falling or staying asleep or restless, unsatisfying sleep) Panic Disorder

Social anxiety disorder symptoms include: • Feeling highly anxious about being with other people and having a hard time talking to them • Feeling very self-conscious in front of other people and worried about feeling humiliated, embarrassed, or rejected, or fearful of offending others • Being very afraid that other people will judge them • Worrying for days or weeks before an event where other people will be because of the stigma and the way society has a way of making those who suffer from these mental illnesses as weak, but it becomes nearly impossible to speak about because of the guilt of burden that the people suffering feel even considering sharing their struggles. There is the biggest obstacle in writing about depression and anxiety, how to do the description of agony that these mental illnesses cause justice while making those who don’t suffer through it understand. Sympathy for people suffering with depression or anxiety can cause feelings of worthlessness and yet empathizing can be difficult to do, at times impossible. No matter how many facts, evidence or personal experience is shared, for many any written story can read like a rant because there’s no clear solution. Those who suffer from depression and anxiety, should seek help or treatment. Those who don’t, should be more receptive to detecting the issue. There’s many times that it isn’t detected and the issue becomes clear once the person suffering has committed suicide, at which point it’s much to late.

A billion stars in the sky Millions of miles away But they always shine so bright Sometimes they flicker and fade Disappearing and never being remembered It just fades from existence The world continues on Like that one star never existed I seen it shine and twinkle And I seen it fade I shouted and screamed For it to just please stay That it could fight just a little longer

Beauty of Words But I was too far Too soft I clawed at the earth Until I bled Wanting to punish it for taking you away The world just a bit duller then before Hardly noticeable to just anyone But to someone that had been In the dark for so long That brightness meant everything The world appeared more grey It never did turn to full color again Just kept fading Until I faded away too
