To be able to plan your daily time of study to get the most profitable results regarding the subject. To develop your listening skills to be able to understand a wide range of spoken situations on daily basis. To improve your reading skills to enable your understanding different kinds of texts including literature. To develop/improve your writing competence. Enhance your speaking abilities using English as a means of communication in the classroom and through specific speaking activities. To apply all grammar structures into your daily language output.

2. BASIC COMPETENCES 2.1. VOCABULARY * Appearance and personality • Holidays and travel • Sport • Compound nouns • Adjectives Prefixes • False friends • Phrasal verbs 2.2. WRITING. * Learning how to use different connectors. Three written assignments are compulsory for the term * Informal correspondence: e-mail * A narrative * A biography 2.3. LISTENINGS * Interviews, media, daily situations, informal conversations, films.. 2.4.

SPEAKING • Describing people: appearance and character. • Talking about holidays • Asking for information and buying a ticket

GRAMMAR * Review of tenses • Present Perfect Simple / Continuous • Past Perfect • Future Perfect/ Future Continuous.

READING A BOOK WILL BE ASSIGNED TO EACH STUDENT WITH A FINAL COMPRENHENSION TEST OR RATING REPORT.

3. COMPUTER ROOM Depending on its availability we will be using Information Technology classroom regularly . 4.TESTS The following schedule is subject to change. GRAMMAR & VOCABULARY: 2 TESTS: end October and beginning December. LISTENING: 2 Tests: mid October and end November. SPEAKING: mid November. WRITING: mid December. READING: Assigned task. 5. ASSESSMENT CRITERIA Classroom work, projects and personal commitment towards the subject as well as your attitude will be taken into account for your grading and could rise or lower your grade accordingly. GRADING PERCENTAGE: GRAMMAR: 50% VOCABULARY: 10% SPEAKING: 10% LISTENING: 10% READING: 10% WRITING: 10%
