Specific questions can be addressed at a one-on-one meeting with an MPAC advisor. Town staff will be on hand to schedule these appointments for attendees. Alternatively, residents may call/email the Town Office to schedule individual appointments with an MPAC advisor.

Look while you cook, never leave cooking unattended, keep anything that burns away from the stove. 32% of all home fire injuries occur in cooking fires. Do not use extension cords as permanent wiring, do not run electrical cords under rugs or carpets, and do not overload circuits. If additional outlets or circuits are required contact a licensed electrician. The average dollar loss per electrical fire is $73, 000.00 Encourage smoking outdoors, do not extinguish cigarettes in plant containers and use deep ashtrays that cannot be knocked over. One in 10 smoking fires results in an injury or death. Prepare and practice a home escape plan so that everyone knows what to do and where the outside meeting place is. Homes today burn up to 8X faster than 50 years ago. Install working smoke alarms on every level of your home and outside all sleeping areas, make sure they are less than 10 years old and test them once a month. There was no smoke alarm warning in 1 of 3 fatal home fires.
