CONCEPT
The inspiration for Spatium stems from geometric designs by artists such as Matthew Shilian and Peter Jellitsch.
Using a variety of mediums, both of these artists create work that is both sparse and strong. Simple shapes are used to create structure. Using this as a principle, the lines and silhouettes for each garment and product become the main feature. Form and outline are the defining factor.
Fabric is of great importance. Each garment uses a fabric which complements the pieces intention. The natural grain of a fabric mimicks the patterns of artists such as Samantha Bittman.
Each garment or product is designed with the customer in mind. Subtle nuances are added, much like a piece of work by Peter Jellitsch. When first looking at his art there appears to be one shape, a closer look reveals many indiviual arrangments within.
