TEACHING METHODOLOGY

At ACE English Malta our methodology is based on tried and tested, professional, and dynamic teaching carried out in a modern fun relaxed atmosphere. We take great care to offer the maximum of personalized attention to each student. Our teachers at ACE English Malta work closely with their students. Given our small classes, the teachers are able to continually assess each student’s progress. We place particular value on the human connection between teacher and student as well as technological learning systems so popular today. From the first day of class, only English is used in our animated and enjoyable interactive sessions that nonetheless require the student to work hard. At ACE English Malta our main objective is that our students progress with a sound language base and maintain life-long confidence in their English abilities. As with any language, once a B1 level is reached it is extremely important to continue practicing in order to maintain the level.

Students can take a test on-line (to save time on the first day) or on arrival, then placed in a suitable class according to their level. A certificate of attendance and level will be given at the end of the students’ stay. All courses include a Welcome pack including school file, local information and area map. Continuous Learning: We will not forget about you after you leave – connect to ACE English Malta’s academic portal for weekly updated learning modules. Our Teachers … Our Methodology …

We believe that our teachers are our greatest strength and are the main reason for the success of our students. ACE English teachers are passionate about teaching and about helping you to develop your English language skills. We use a variety of effective teaching techniques to help you learn quickly. English teachers have become more aware that the exclusive use of a particular teaching method does not suit all English teaching situations. Teachers have also discovered that no single method can deal with everything that concerns the content of the target language. This is why teachers at ACE English Malta are committed to practicing eclectic teaching methods that are a combination of various methodologies. They combine the new with the old so as to adapt to a variety of teaching structures that students from different cultures are used to.

Since instruction is deeply ingrained in the philosophy and culture of the students’ homeland, learning styles and habits in language acquisition are considered by our teachers and this helps learners acquire linguistic competence more easily. ACE English’s teachers relate teaching grammar and pattern drills to meaning and use, and so teach English for a communicative purpose. By making the language situations and materials as realistic as possible, teachers encourage students to ultimately use the rules in real-life communication and to manipulate structures as spontaneously and flexibly as possible.

courses Through their experience at ACE English Malta we want our students to develop their ability to express themselves successfully and confidently in English.

SOCIAL & LEISURE

At ACE English Malta we organise weekly social activities for students. These are a very important part of learning English as students will practice what they would have learnt in class in the real world. Our staff will bring students close to each other and to the culture of Malta, by assisting in helping them make new friends and experiencing local traditions. Why is a social programme important for you? Because you can: • Speak and hear more English • Meet other students and locals • Learn new things • Laugh and have fun • Relax! And feel good about yourself • Make even more friends • Challenge yourself With such an agreeable climate there is a wide variety of land and sea sports facilities available on the island. Malta offers almost any sport under the sun. Choose from the high-energy to the lowoctane : there is sports for experts and beginners alike.

For the spirit of sports and adventure, a number of local organised clubs and associations are available to provide our students varied indoor and outdoor activities to choose from. Apart from regular outdoor activities like golf, tennis and horse riding, there is plenty of indoor options. Pamper oneself in a deluxe health spa, getting fit in the gym or challenging friends to an evening of pool or bowling. The climate, terrain and scenery are made for walking, cycling or touring by car. Enjoy a leisurely ramble or join a jeep safari for a wilder, off-road view. In Malta the outdoors is a discovery of the restless blue sea, unusual landscapes and timeless Mediterranean life. Whatever a student may be up to, the Maltese islands are a stage set for any type of activity. Baroque cities, medieval towns, rugged cliffs, prehistoric temples and endless seaside promenades are memorable backdrops to your stay.
