The TI 84 Plus has everything you need for Pre Calc all through to Calc II (BC) but becomes less useful as you progress. It is also allowed for SAT SAT II an AP. It is also the cheapest. The TI 84 Plus SILVER is a little more expensive ($10) than the Plus. It is more useful than all the other calculators apart from the TI Inspire and TI 89 It also accepted for standardized tests and in college. The SILVER Edition is easier to use when it comes to some applications such as inequalities of graphs, a separate period table and other functions. For advanced calculus exam there are integrals that you cannot solve by hand and that would take too much time to solve.The TI84 may not be able to solve these kinds of questions. In this case you would need the TI89 Titanium. The TI 89 will do symbol differentiation and integration which the TI 84 cannot do.
