3.-From my point of view, Mrs. Clarke had every right to do as she did. She poured the boiling water over the thief's hand in self defence, because otherwise the man could have come in and hurt her.

4.- If I were in Mrs. Clarke's position, I would have done exactly as she did, or I would have used any other household object that could have been used as a weapon.
